Very interesting... I'm still wondering what he did during the incident, but must of been bad if even the players wanted him cut/released following the incident.

Following the incident, Randall returned to the starting lineup and played well. However, if some teammates would have had their way, Randall wouldn’t have even had the opportunity.

Demovsky says some of the team’s veterans wanted Randall gone after his meltdown.

There was strong sentiment in the locker room at that time to give Randall the boot — sources said McCarthy’s committee of veteran players suggested that Randall be released.

He also says the Packers felt Randall could have played through a knee injury that sidelined him for the final two games. Of course, those final two games didn’t matter, but considering the Packers are notoriously conservative with injuries, it isn’t a good look for Randall.

I read one reporter say that one teammate when told of Damarious being traded, they responded "About time.".

Never gave a fuck about the team, that's why hes gone. I get it but we're in desperate need of DBs and that is before you realize we're about to lose morgan burnett too. Its incredibly frustrasting that we're going to have to use more high picks on corners for the 3rd time and probably have to break the bank for one.

The picture clears ! Let us hope that a closer family like team will come from this. A disruptive element at work or in a locker room never motivates others. The new GM found a way to get rid of the bad element and get real value in return.

To get a player acquisition from this deal was just a bonus. I, honestly, feel that the draft position would have been satisfactory to unload a player you may have cut anyway. Those reports could be bogus, but I can't imagine it was a clean transition to everything being fine after the Chicago meltdown. There's so much people on the outside are not privy to.

I get/understand being sour about depth too. It's potentially very worrisome, sure. Let's say Kevin King is healed up and Herb Waters becomes the guy our defensive pass coordinator thinks he could be then we do have some other players we could try at nickle, but there aren't many and there's practically little to no experience in this secondary.

Question for the football pros here: What's to stop us from using and/or acquiring another safety/lb hybrid type guy to man that nickel position? Seems like if we get someone as big and tall as well as fast as a CB that can man that position, then it doesn't matter if he's listed as a CB, a S, or an LB. All that matters is that he can run with and tackle the man he's supposed to, on a given play. Right or wrong?

This rationale for the trade would make much more sense if he wasn't traded to a team with a management team that had insider information of the incident.

I think it's more about the team and coaches than high level scouts.

Mucky Tundra (8h) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (9h) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (9h) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (9h) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (12h) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
