"Minimal" Mike McCarthy's pattern is to constantly put us in this position of nearly being mathematically eliminated, then having to win out just to QUALIFY.
Then, with everything on the line, when a coach or leader who HAS some modicum of sense about "sports psychology" would have them pumped up and ready to go, like a tightened spring ready to unleash, Mike's teams come screaming out of the tunnel and fall FLAT on their faces. They go into a lull for 3 quarters and MOST of the time pull the game out of their asses with Aaron Rodgers heroics and broken, fluke plays.
Today I predict the defense will get some turnovers. They can neither get to the QB nor cover for 8+. However, they CAN get turnovers. They don't HAVE to get to Cam today. They have to CONTAIN him, force him to throw. Carolina has ONE good receiver, Randall will shadow him today. Contain Cam and he will throw wild.
And oh yeah, stuff the run.
Then we can also get special teams plays. Trevor Davis could bust a return today. Hope we don't get a penalty on it.
These things could happen and we will very likely NEED them to. Because I doubt they're gonna come out ready and show up for a full 60. That's not how Mike's teams roll.
