Now if Mike was such a QB whisperer as he has been given credit for, why isn't Hundley doing better? Is it that Mike doesn't develop QBs and has just had the luck of having some HOF quality talent at his disposal at the position.

He seems slow to be able to adjust when key players go down. Happened with Jordy, with Finley and clearly with Rodgers/Hundley.

Also, the run game. It has been pitiful for most of his time in GB. We are seeing it now come to life when he quits running the outside stretch plays and lets the lineman block downhill. And when he actually commits to the run game rather than just paying it lip service. We have had good backs, only to get poor results because McCarthy was so stubborn with the outside zone.

I only wonder what the offense could have been like in the past if McCarthy hadn't stuck with what wasn't working only because The passing game covered for it.

I wonder what percentage of the offensive success has been a result of Free plays when the defense jumps, or busted plays where Rodgers extending the play is the reason for positive results rather than a sack or throw away incompletion.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Thanks PFWT...questions and more questions need to be asked just like this one. "Why?" is your friend.

I know I get the negative label here but what would Bill Belichick say? You think that guy is ever satisfied? He's thinking about next season as he's standing there receiving Lombardi trophies. One of my favorite memes is this one:

https://memegenerator.net/instance/73430250/wild-bill-belichick-thanksgiving-is-over-were-on-to-christmas

That never be satisfied mentality needs to be in our organization. It is so tired from patting itself on the back and congratulating itself for the past. It was one of the things that kept this org down for many years...always talking about the Lombardi years and living in the past. Same thing is happening now. Oh, 8 straight playoff appearances! Highly successful coach! All things that should never be talked about by those actually doing them.

Before I get accused of saying I'm like Bill Belichick, each of us has a mindset. Mine just happens to be in line with how Belichick goes about his business. He ain't ever satisfied...he wants...more. Good is not good enough. He ain't going to self congratulate and will be "on to..." all the time because his passion is winning, not what he's won, or did in the past. He is active...not passive. We have a passive backward looking organization which precludes looking at now and the future. I don't care about 8 straight playoff appearances. Meaningless to me. If we win this year's SB, I want to win the next one just as much or more. A winner wins and that's all that satisfies...a loser talks about the good old days of past accomplishments like Al Bundy playing HS football for Polk High.

Don't be a Bundy...Be a Belichick.

Absolutely and that's normally the case, but it clearly wasn't the case this last game where the offense shit the bed and couldn't get the defense a breather.

Actions speak louder than words, the offense had a number of drives which were complete shit and your blaming the defense for wearing down... when most defenses would wear down if they can't ever get a long drive breather, as it also helps the offense on the feild more chances to get in a rhythm.

I never blamed the defense for anything I simply pointed out that they are bad at getting themselves off the field. This defense isn't good at it whether they are "worn down" or not. Maybe you should pay more attention to those words instead of whatever actions you are perceiving.

Between 2:30 in the 1st Quarter and 6:02 in the 4th quarter, (that's over 40 minutes), the Offense got 7 drives and had the ball for 9:37 (in other words 1:22 per drive)... clearly the offense crapped their pants, and yet your talking shit about the defense when they're the ones that kept us in the freaking game.

Maybe you should pay attention to the games, so you actually know which units are ones shitting their pants from game to game... it wasn't the defense in the Bucs game.

You said you're Belichick, why? Because you think Belichick is the best head coach (which he has been) and you think you're the best just like him (you're not).... and telling us to be more like him, is telling us to be more like you (because you think you're like him)... when reality is that we're no better than others, yet your opinion keeps suggesting that you wrongly believe otherwise.

Hypocrite, because you keep blaming others for things that you also do... such as making yourself the subject/topic, and then getting upset when other people directly address you as the subject that you started.

Buck, I am glad something is making you think. That's a great thing. You don't have to mention me ever, but I know I make you think...all kinds of things.

I think like Belichick because I think like Belichick. What that means to you it means to you. I don't think like Mike McCarthy and I do think a lot of people here and elsewhere are shills for the HC. It's a fan staple everywhere. Follow the HC's lead. Is that not accurate? Tell me? When I look honestly at the differences between Bill Belichick and Mike McCarthy I can't help but find myself agreeing with Belichick over Mike McCarthy. I watch a lot of Pats games...find myself usually in total agreement with Belichick's strategy, game management, etc. It makes sense to what I would do...Now, with MM, I don't feel that same way at all. Not because I want to follow Bill and not be like Mike...it's just how I see and think. I'm pointing it out for discussion because it's true many are like Mike here and have been for a long time. Some aren't. Some blast the guy like he should be blasted and question his chest pounding about being a highly successful coach.

A lot of discussion with me won't happen just because. Nobody wants me to be right. Nerd was getting praise from you regarding what he said about Hundley prior to Steelers game. I just smiled at that. Touting someone who makes more stuff up than anyone I've ever seen was fun to see. It runs deep. Someone who incessantly promotes Hundley and says the same thing week after week is hailed for "calling it"? Any balance after Tampa? Nope. Now, Nerd is saying... Let's see what he's got at CLE? Oh my... It's amazing. Let's see what he's got? This is below base level stuff. I don't belong here. I often wonder why I try. I watch a lot of football. I'm not Packers-centric like many...I am aware of what is going on around the NFL as I watch a lot of games and different teams and follow it closely year round. To have to try and debate with those who just watch Packers games and are unaware of much else is a bad mix. I get to be the big bad bully who some think is bragging on himself that thinks he's better than everyone. It's just that I'm different than you and that's as polite as I can be without being slammed as more insulting pejorative terms.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.

Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
