lol Our definitions of substance are TOTALLY different. I really, don't care much for the art/dialog of a movie. I care more about the principle of the movie. I have no idea what the heck movie you just mention is.. lol

I'm into most anything pop culture, with a few exceptions. Whether it be action, comedy (well, some.. lol), drama, etc.

It's a French post-apocalyptic fantasy movie that's very popular with people with their faces covered in piercings and weird color hair dye jobs that make coffee in places other than Starbucks.

English translation - The City of Lost Children. Great movie.

Here's another of my favorites - Once Were Warriors. Mid-90s New Zealand flick about a Maori family. If you can stomach the extreme scenes of domestic abuse, it's a pretty dang good movie.

As for movies having deeper political meaning, I tend to avoid them because you know my political views and they're usually anti-me.

If I want to watch a non-artistic movie though, it would be something that's so stupid it's funny like "Dude, Where's My Car?" or something that hits home and is funny like "Office Space."

Action movies bore the hell out of me, except for Romero's Zombie movies. I take notes though when watching those.

I like comedys the best (no big surprise there, hey?) But they have to be real dumb comedys.....like "Larry the Cable guy, health inspector" or "Ernest goes to jail".
I LOVE that just plain goofy dumb comedy.

"Office Space" is pretty funny. I only seen it once, on Comedy Central. I know every major quote from it though, thanks to my friends that quote that movie all the time.. lol I saw "Dude, Where's My Car?" in theaters, and loved it at the time. But, hadn't seen it since. Funny how that works.

I'm big on epic action/adventure flicks.. Like "Gladiator" (best movie. Ever.), "300" (makes me want to brawl at the end.. lol), or "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. You know, the knight in shining armour saving the damsel in distress type movie.

Cool we agree on comedies. :thumbright:
I like to laugh, and will laugh at the stupidest things.

Gladiator put me to sleep, but LOVED 300. Seen that movie several times. One of my favorite movies of the 00s. And of course loved LotR but then again, I love fantasy and it's rare that a fantasy film (in this case 3) is done right, and all 3 were good.

The first few times watching Gladiator, put me to asleep as well. But, if you can muster through the slower plot building times.. It ends beautifully. I'm a sap, a big one.. but even though I've seen it so many times that I over played the first DVD I bought of it, and am now on DVD #2 of Gladiator, I still bawl at the end of it.

dfosterf (13-Aug) : Doubs says he's "fine" after injury scare. Some reported it as z
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : With LVN that is; need to see what happens in the next practice
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : beast, reading about what happened, it sounded like one of those "two guys collide and are moving slow afterwards" type of deals
beast (12-Aug) : I believe Musgrave has been injured every single season since at least a Sophomore in highschool
packerfanoutwest (12-Aug) : Matt LaFleur: “Highly unlikely” Jordan Love plays more this preseason
dfosterf (12-Aug) : Doubs, Savion Williams, LVN, Musgrave all banged up to one degree or another, missing one here I forget

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
