I'd like to know what teams give them to small websites without much readership... because I might start a website for that team just to get media credentials... and maybe go to a game or two (especially if they play the Packers).

A buddy of mine discovered it, sort of by accident, back in 2012 or so, when we were doing some in-depth statistical analysis projects together; and although the league has upgraded the user interface a bit (it used to look like a Web 1.0 page), the username and password are still the same.

The site is awesome, by the way. It's a freaking motherlode. Write yourself a parser in C# or the language of your choice, and you can quickly assemble a statistical database to rival that of STATS LLC, which charges tens of thousands of dollars a month for access.
