Ok its getting to be really boring so i figured i would start this. Could the Lions pull this off? I sure hope not because they don't need to be getting any better. If they do (yes you can laugh) i think they could become a nfc north contender. So here's the latest:

Broncos | Drama with Cutler continues
Tue, 10 Mar 2009 18:51:40 -0700

Mike Klis, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels and QB Jay Cutler talked on the phone Monday, March 9, but things were not smoothed over for the disgruntled quarterback. Per a league source, Cutler left the conversation believing he will be traded by the Broncos between now and the NFL Draft if the team finds the right deal. The Broncos previously announced Cutler would not be traded. Cutler thought everything would be smoothed over during the call, but was reportedly told by McDaniels that no one is untradeable. The team told him they expect him to report for their offseason conditioning program, but, per a source, Cutler has not decided if he will report Monday, March 16.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

That would be pretty scary. The only good thing about this would be that the Lions would have to give up quite alot. I asume somewhere in the lines of their 20th pick and their 33rd.

That'd still mean they could get a very good tackle with their first pick and they'd have quite a scary offense already with a great QB, good RB, decent O-line and one sick receiver.

Their defense would still suck though, but that would be one hell of an improvement over last year.

That's all theoratically though. First of all, I don't see the Broncos just trading him. Who'd they end up with? Ramsay? That'll be a 5-11 season for sure. All they would have left is two decent running backs, a great corner and some good receivers.

I'm hating this Cutler controversy too. Not too often a young franchise QB goes on the trading block....with 3 huge QB needing teams in our division. Not good for us at all.

Rockmolder has a point though. The Broncos really have nobody to fill the position after Cutler. Teams would have to sell the farm for him. You just know the Vikings are salivating at the thought though.

Not really i mean ( don't laugh) but the LIons could package in Culpepper for a short fix and the broncos draft a guy this year or next when you have alot of good qbs coming out. Also don't forget you still have the likes of Gracia, Leftwich, Ramsey and a few others that have been starters. I still don't see why the Bears don't grab maybe Leftwich who is still young. But remember anything can happen and it might not take that much to get him.

Well, that's quite surprising, considering the Broncos have no one else to turn to if they trade Cutler. No other free agent or veteran backup is a sufficient replacement for a young QB like Cutler.

The funny thing is, now that Matt Ryan and to a lesser extent, Joe Flacco, have shown that 1st year starting QBs can perform well again, many GMs and coaches are going to think they can give away an (almost) proven young franchise QB for a 1st round QB in the draft and develop a star out of them. And it'll be those QBs thrown into the fire who suffer, having their career upended by the impatience of the front office personnel.

If they trade Cutler, I'm willing to bet that the Broncos will be in disarray moreso than not.

Well, they do have Chris Simms, who by many reports (NFL Network mostly) has been doing really well since his injury and will more then likely play very well. I don't think he will be as good as Cutler, but perhaps they have faith in him for the short term, while looking to next years draft for the long term answer?

Really doesn't make sense to me but who knows. Maybe they have questions about his diabetes and / or long term durability?? I mean, I'm reaching here, but it's about the only thing I can think of as to why they would want to trade him. I don't buy the "he can't play the system well" as I think he could play well in any system.

Weird. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Broncos | Cutler's home for sale
Fri, 13 Mar 2009 14:09:52 -0700

The Denver Post, citing KMGH-7, reports Denver Broncos QB Jay Cutler has put his 7,516-square-foot home in Colorado up for sale. As previously reported, Cutler left a recent conversation with team brass thinking he would be traded before the NFL Draft. Cutler also owns a condo in downtown Denver.

Sure seems like he don't plan on being back.
