Datone is a lot better than Kyler Fackrell and Odom has never played OLB. He'd be cheap and good to have while we see if Odom can even learn the position.

So I'm not sure Datone can move as well as he did last year (at what I think is a higher weight)... plus he's on the IR with an injured shoulder.

I'm thinking we should wait to see what the Packers do with DL Quinton Dial, who's visiting tomorrow (Monday) before we celebrate Adams being closer to playing than we expect... because in theory he could be going to the IR tomorrow. Of course, maybe they won't sign Dial, or maybe they'd make room in other ways.

Now, that's ^^^^^^^^^.a GREAT post.

The one we need most ain't practicing. It's going to be a rough go on O. I see 10-17 points being put up by us. Oft criticized D, better be vastly improved and bring it Sunday.

Brooks will play the elephant role for the Packers

Earlier this offseason, they talked about moving Clay Matthews around a bit... so I'm wondering if this means we'll see some of Brooks, Perry and Matthews on the field at the very same time, with Brooks at LOLB, Perry at ROLB and Matthews somewhere in the middle.

I like Clay better there. Brooks and Perry are two tough guys. Clay can be the crack of lightning to their thunder on the outside. Plus, Josh Jones as a blitzer, or Brice, with either's unbelievable speed could be a factor off the edge. We need to get back to some safety blitzes going way back to Fritz Shurmur and to what we did with Woodson under Dom with the corner blitz. Where is the creativity? We're going to need it.

Either way 🇲🇲

The only previously injured player on the 53-man roster who did not take part in the workout was right tackle Bryan Bulaga, who is recovering from a right ankle sprain. The Packers don't have to release an injury report until Wednesday, but last week coach Mike McCarthy said he did not have a major concern regarding Bulaga's availability for the season opener.

The most surprising development was the return of rookie defensive tackle Montravius Adams, who had been out since undergoing foot surgery the first week of training camp. Adams took part in all of the individual drills. It's not clear if he took part in the team portion of practice because reporters aren't allowed to watch that segment.

I believe Tom Silverstein suggested Adams might of been working a limit practice, of course, that could be because everyone (included the beat writers) seemed pretty surprised (and maybe caught off guard) that Adams was back practicing.

But I was mainly excited about the ability to move Matthews around and having more options. Also the ability to let Perry (possibility) rush from the right side, where he has always seemed better than the left side...

Also they were MUCH MORE AGGRESSIVE with defensive play calling this year than in past years during the preseason games.... where in past years they would let the lower (non-1st) strings play vanilla defense. Which I always assumed was to get a better evaluation of them in one on one match-ups. But it didn't allow them to do all the creative and different stuff and maybe didn't prepare them to do it as much in games.

I read where someone talked about the Packers changing their mindset on how to use preseason games and that they now might be using them as physical practices (to a degree)... since the CBA took away so many.
