Not to mention how many Teams run an offense that Kaepernick would fit? Not many, Even the teams with running QBs don't want to have their QBs running and would rather have a backup who can stand in the pocket and throw rather than run around.

I'm aware of Google, but I wanted your source so I could be on the same page as you.

I don’t like the guy as a player. I don’t think he can play. I didn’t think he could play at Reno, I don’t think he can play now. … You don’t think if he was a good player, 20 teams would be lining up? … He’s inaccurate, inconsistent reading defenses. He needs everything to be perfect around him, and he needs to run a certain offense. When he was rolling, they had an unbelievable defense and a great running game with an amazing offensive line. Everything was perfect. And you consider that, why isn’t there a debate about RG3? He just wasn’t a consideration.

Robert Griffin III comment is interesting because he's 27 and Kaepernick is 29. So someone younger and mostly the same QB without the distraction isn't getting a look either.

I personally think Kapernick has the arm strength to be on a 90 man roster, but I don't think his talent is worth one of 53 roster spots BECAUSE of the distraction he brings. It's not fair to him, but he could have curtailed this a long time ago while getting more support for his cause. He let it spiral and now we're talking about protests, instead of his cause.

You can't convince me that Kaepernick isn't better than 90% of those guys.

He's not signed because of his political views and the stance he took, Rodgers is right about that. Call a spade a spade, he's good enough to be a top backup but he won't because he's too controversial. The owners don't want to take flack for signing a player who rocks the boat, it disrupts the money machine. Also opening up discussions of racial inequality in the NFL comes with a whole other can of worms seeing as how 70% of the players are African American, yet only a tiny fraction of the coaches + owners are. This is a subject they rather put to bed and soon.

Teams don't want to have to change the offense for their backup. That is also why you don't see more Left hand QB's/Backups. Kaepernick can do the read option and run. he isn't that good throwing. He is inaccurate and lacks touch. Can get that cheaper and without the baggage.

He has to be in a read-option offense and if you tailor your offense around that, you need a similar backup. The Seahawks made sense. But again, he's 29 years old, he's not a spring chicken so why would you use your roster spot (plus VETERAN salary) on a guy who won't play, but will unfairly to him brings a large distraction?

I do not fault Kapernick here, not at all. The distraction, sure, he could have curtailed it long time ago, but so what. It's the stupid ignorant fucktard media that is ruining his chances. How many more god damn times are we going to be told who stood vs who sat for the Anthem?

The cause is REAL. The cause needs attention. We are NOT giving the cause attention, we're more worried about some 29 year old QB who knelt during the anthem (who btw said he will stand now) in a silent, peaceful protest.

I don't really care if teams don't want to sign Kap because of his politics and I never liked the guy even before his protest thing but this anonymous stuff coming from NFL sources suggesting his playing ability is the ONLY reason he's not on a team rubs me the wrong way. If that's the only reason then you wouldn't need to be anonymous to say so.

Look at Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert, these guys are basically guaranteed back up jobs and have never met an offense they couldn't run into the ground.

For example Kaepernick may very well be better than Hundley this season but Hundley's future is obviously brighter.

I mean if I need to I could go through all the teams and probably pick out 15 guys who will be on a 53 this year that are no better than Kaepernick and likely worse. That sounds like alot of work just to defend my position but check it out for yourself. Scott Tolzien is still in the league. Kellen Moore, Sean Mannion, Ryan Griffin, none of these guys will ever win a playoff game but they'll be on a roster.

I can't make this more simple than that. It annoyed me how people anointed Kapernick "great" during his EIGHT game run during 49ers super bowl season when watching him it was so obvious he was NOT great. Now he has some unfair (fucktard media driven) distraction and that outweighs his value to a team.

Think about this for a second. We are a PACKERS fan site and we're talking about Colin Kaepernick's roster status. The distraction is REAL. This freaking proves it! Who the hell wants that on their plate? And for a QB like Kaepernick who WAS BEAT OUT BY BLAINE FREAKING GABBERT! lol

Edit (beat out is not accurate, he was replaced with Gabbert because he wasn't getting it done)...

Also, I wanted to like Kaepernick because I'm a homer, I like Wisconsin born/raised players. But the games I watched him play and ... sorry ... he's not that good.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere

beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.

beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
