I've been reading a few comments of praise of Kevin King and Josh Jones. I wonder what the future is for our former 1st and 2nd round CB's from what was it, 2014 draft?

I don't think Jones is competing for the same position, in my mind he's going to get his reps at Safety and inside linebacker (or whatever we call the new hybrid safety/ILB spot).

Pass break-ups, a couple would be sacks, an interception, and a tackle of a loss... so yea he's coming along.

Jones is the player I have been most excited to see. I was hoping that Aaron Rouse would have been able to play the SS/ILB hybid spot and he never panned out. Hopefully Jones has better luck and can stay healthy.

Having a guy who can hit and still run with todays WR's and TE's is a huge asset.

Coach McCarthy and Coach Capers understand this and therefor are placing early emphasis on CB's Davon House and Kevin King . They know that repeating last seasons CB mistakes will not result in a different result . I applaud their willingness to not remain stuck with last seasons 31st ranked Secondary ! [thumbup]

Well...this IS good news. Maybe a young guy that really wants to make the team can light a fire under the butts of the guys that didn't seem to "show up" last year.
Fear of losing your job can have that affect.

I don't as yet know how Josh Jones will be used in the GB Defense , but so far all reports give him high praise . A Hybrid LB / Safety that aggressively covers the short field sounds great to me . Stopping the inside run or covering against TE's / RB's in the short passing plays ! Additionally , in the Blitz , he could be a very scary defender ! [bdance]

He will sack quarterbacks this year. That's a guarantee. If he can force a fumble while doing so, all the better!
