In an interview with NFL Network, TE Martellus Bennett said they work working, and coach told they like guys to do speed cuts, (I believe) Willie McGinest just started laughing, like he totally knew where this was going.
Bennett continued with something like, I might be able to give you cut-cut, but I'm 6 foot 6, 270 pounds, I don't really speed (cut), I was getting off the line with the others, I sorta chop, I've been in the NFL 10 years... I've never speed cut... Switching to Rodgers, Bennett said, Rodgers was like, don't worry about it, just do it your way and I'll get you.
I wasn't used to the terms in the context that Bennett was using them.
After doing a little research, by
- Chop, I think Bennett meant planted his leg and make a single cut
- By cut-cut, Bennett meant two short cuts
- Speed cut, as shown in the video (after 0:53 mark), is a continually accelerating their feet turn (or a whole lots of small step/turns) I can see why that would be a lot harder on a big man.
