I read a couple of stories on this and they all blend together. MSP was out of rental cars. House wanted to pay them more but they refused. Reminds me of the Kevin Costner movie For Love of the Game where the tow truck driver turns down Billy Chapel's money.
Perhaps he could have gotten them Tix to a game but not at 3 am.

I've been through MSP hundreds of times and highly doubt they were out of Rental cars. I could maybe see if he didn't have more cash but even then there are ATMs everywhere. I've had people do things for me and if I wanted to give them money, I don't let them say no. Hell I'd probably give more than $80 to somebody stopping to help me fix a flat tire.

Hope he does follow up with them with tickets and maybe onto the field during warmups or something. Their time alone is worth that.
