Are you excited?

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has turned R-E-L-A-X into a catchphrase of sorts over the years, but that's not the message he's sending to the team's fans ahead of the 2017 season. Rodgers noted how the team played offensively down the stretch last season and the additions of tight end Martellus Bennett and Lance Kendricks while...

I'm excited about the offense, I think great things are possible in 2017.
Like AR I think they need a couple (maybe more) pieces on the defensive side of the ball.

The last time Aaron got his way, Tom Clements was made play caller.

I hope you were all excited then too.

Well....I wasn't concerned with the offense in the first place.
The best offense in the league can't be expected to carry the team in EVERY game.
We need some real playmakers on defense as well if we want a super bowl win.
I AM excited about the coming season.,.,of course i always am excited about the Packers.

Personally I like that the offense has something to prove.

It was nice to see Ted Thompson be a bit more active in FA this year with swapping Cook for Bennett and adding Kendricks to the TE mix. We have some depth concerns at RB and OG now after the major parts of FA have played out. My guess is we probably look at drafting a RB in the first three rounds to split some carries with Montgomery unless they add a veteran back like AD who really doesn't fit the scheme very well anyways.

Unfortunately the defense is still suspect too. I don't think moving on from Peppers was a huge loss given his downturn in play and limited pitch count each game and they had to keep Perry who at least showed last season when he's healthy he can contribute. I don't think his deal was completely out of whack for what a guy of his production and what he would've received on the open market this year.

Adding some depth with House and RJ Francois were some good moves, but success on D to me is going to come down to health, Matthews coming back and being able to primarily play on the outside and be effective there, Martinez and Ryan being able to handle the bulk of the ILB snaps so Clay can stay on the outside, and hope the sophmore slumps Randall and Rollins went through last year aren't a reflection of their long term play for us at CB, especially having moved on from Shields whose career maybe over at this point.

Won't be excited as long as Dom remains defensive coordinator unless we have at least 6 or 7 guys on D having a pro bowl level season.
