When your team reaches the NFC Championship game you tend to feel you are a piece or two away from getting to the Super Bowl. Often times you assume that piece or two can be acquired via free agency. It won't happen this year for the Packers for obvious reasons (it never really does) and because a lot of teams have a lot of cash.

Packers have $43 million under the projected salary cap . The problem here is a dozen teams have more. Browns have over $100 million!

Somehow the Patriots are $62 million below the projected salary cap. Kind of unfair.


Anyhow, this just means that we know its going to be slow during the free agency period and this just adds to WHY we should be slow. There is going to be some serious stupid money spent and I am thankful we won't be spending that stupid money.

Amen Brother!

This is my favorite time of off-season: watching all the cuts. First, these are the guys Ted will sign if we have $$$ left after signing our own. Second, like evaluating a draft 3-4 years later; we get a chance to evaluate just how good those lauded high priced FA acquisitions worked out for those other teams from years past; ya know the ones that Ted got bashed for not "going for it." Third, wondering if these dopey GMs will this year learn from history. Fourth, feeling overwhelming glee knowing we have a competitive advantage when they just won't learn.

I am not interested in most of the FAs out there. If Ted can't land one of the better CBs then take a pass.
