A self-described highly-successful NFL coach has described his team’s recently-completed season as highly successful. Packers coach Mike McCarthy, who …

Read the piece and answer it's charges, if you can. Straight truth. All of it.

Good the enemy of great once again.

So happy reading Dom and Ted will be back today. Hey, this was just another "successful" season so why change a thing? 1 out of 11 years in SB with 4 and 12 is fantastic.Thank you, Caleb Hanie.

Outside the Green Bay bubble people are asking the right questions. Why aren't all of us asking these same things?

Coaching, Management and Shareholders perspective it is a successful season specially when your sitting at 4-6 after 10 games.

As a fan not so much, specially the fact where injuries is being used as an excuse to keep Capers around!

A couple of comments from presumably a Pats fan and a Lions fan are just so telling: (great seeing the overwhelming response is pro for each comment as evidence by the voting on each comment...tide is turning...no question those writing the narrative and believe in it are going to fight back to keep it)

Unless the Pats win the SB I somehow believe BB will not see the season as a “Success”…..

See the difference?

It’s all relative. Lions have a successful season just making the playoffs. But when you have Aaron Rodgers, one of the greatest QB’s to every play, THE greatest playing today in my opinion, anything less than a Championship is a disappointment

It's starting to feel like the coaching staff has a good ol boy country club thing going on. No matter how bad the performance excuses will be made because Mike doesn't wanna have to fire or demote his buddy. In Capers case the only good thing anybody says about him since we won the Super Bowl are excuses for why his defenses have been disappointing. Clearly Doms defense just doesn't mesh well with Ted Thompson GM style. If Ted is sticking around it's time to move on from Capers. Time for Mike to let his buddy go and bring in someone who will run a defense that players can learn to run effectively within their first couple seasons

All depends on your rating scale. If you have two choices you probably say no. If you rate it on a scale of 1-100 while definitely not a 100, it is probably in the 80 range which would make it successful.

Later MM says questions about Ted leaving are valid because he's not the "youngest cat". Umm. Ted is 2.66 years younger than your DC. Might want to consider game has passed him by not to mention how brutal the D has been for years.

A self promoting buddy club? No wonder so many are okay with it.

Wonder if BB loses next week, if he’ll think that was a successful season…

With an aging, 39 yr old QB, they’ve gone 16-2 and are back in the SB for the 7th time in 16 yrs. After a loss, he’d say the season was a failure, without hesitation.

That’s the difference between legends like BB and ***** like McCarthy.

You have a future HOF QB. Outside of him, not much talent there.

That’s on the coach/GM. Every other NFC team is happy you’re wasting Rodgers’ prime by poor drafting and a lack of involvement in FA.

What success? Getting to where you were supposed too isn't exactly success. But getting beyond that would be. It's the Packers, not the freakin' Bears! C'mon McCarthy, where's your backbone?

MM also said they fell short of their goal. Watch his presser, he discussed a video they made for camp that had a countdown to the Super Bowl. MM made it clear that the goal each year is the SB. Saying you've had success, doesn't mean the organization isn't diligently pursuing the ultimate goal.

As for Dom comments, again, watch the presser. He dodged the question initially, then came back to it. He said he hasn't gotten to his staff evaluations yet, so why would he throw Dom under the bus?
