The D&D can still work and I like a healthy cap. I don't entirely fault him for that.

Where I fault him his his defensive eye. How long has this been an obvious emphasis in the draft, or need for this team, yet this continues to be the downfall of this organization.

First off... didn't the turtle beat the hare? ... just checking.
Anyway

Yes the Packers have had a number of bust in recent years which has hurt the Packers as well as the NFL is changing... like we're seeing the old SS types not being placed at LB. I'm not sure if the Packers have been keeping up with that... and I'm not sure changing Thompson will suddenly change that either.

But we need some help selecting defensive talents...

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Ted just needs to bring in more mid range FAs to compete with draft picks and add good depth instead of having 5 or 6 UDFAs need to play a good amout of snaps whenever someone gets hurt. He does pretty good on FA signings like Cook we just need some more of those. We already have too much money tied up on big deals and we've seen what happens when those guys don't play up to their contracts. The last thing we need is more of those. We can shave off contracts like Matthews/Shields/maybe Cobb and add some mid/high level FA in a few spots

I hope out "All in" QB is ready to take the pay cut when we need to "reload."

Regardless if Rodgers could play better or not (of course he could), he has largely carried the Packers for years, other than 2010, and he was still the main contributor then.

Going "all in" doesn't have to mean signing top free agents. A couple Jared Cook-type signings could make a huge difference, just like Jared Cook did this season. The Packers are not going to address all of their weakness with the 29th picks in the draft.
