Cook was the big star last time. My money is on Montgomery to be the big star of this game. I talked about a double 40 burger but one thing the NFL has taught is that things usually don't go as planned. Everyone is thinking this huge aerial fest. It might be Freeman/Coleman vs. Montgomery/Michael and a game in the 20's or teens. Seems unlikely but that stuff happens all the time in the National Football League.

88 with 200 yards combined in this one and the star of the game along with Rodgers.

The Atlanta Falcons will host the Green Bay Packers on January 22, 2017 for NFC Championship game. It also marks the Falcons last game in Atlanta's Georgia Dome. The facility opened its doors in 1992 and has served for 24 years. In that time , many games of football have been played there , from the NFL to College to High Schools. In addition , it has hosted concerts and many other non-sports events.

Many opinions, facts, and some humor has been posted in this thread. Much centers upon who will /will not play in Sundays NFC Championship Game. WRs & CBs (GB's) have been discussed the most. We can say who we like or don't like. We can say who we believe is/is not healthy and able to play. It is fun to express our opinions here in this forum, yet the Professional Coaches, Doctors, and the players themselves are the only ones who really know the whole truth. Team policy is to closely protect information regarding player injuries.

The Packers will start/field the very best roster that they can, after-all their jobs and reputations are on the line in this game as well. Coach McCarthy and his entire staff of professional coaches, trainers, and support personal are all focused on giving the Packers the best chance to win. I don't believe that they would endanger any injured player, no matter how valuable they are, to gain even 1 yard. They know that it is not worth the risk of incurring an even more serious injury.

Little attention has been paid to the Falcons and their players. Who among then is injured / recovered and ready to play. Who or at what position is their weak link ? Can GB's Defense place serious pressure on QB Matt Ryan ? How good are Atlanta's CB's ? What Atlanta LB will try to cover GB's TE J. Cook ? Will we see blitzes from Atlanta's Safety's or will they be afraid Rodgers will burn them if they try ? ...

Julio Jones, whom hasn't practiced yet this week, stated he would play Sunday, but did NOT say he would be full strength. He's not had a huge game since his toe injury. Let's hope it stays that way. Gabriel is fast as frick and worries me on some long shots down the field. He's a former Brown so maybe there's nothing to worry about, there. :)

The time has come to post my prediction for the GB @ Atlanta contest.

As most have posted, both teams will field very good Offenses. The Defenses of both teams are pointed to as the weakest links. I agree.
The difference in this NFC Championship Game, IMO, will come down to turnovers.

Green Bay --- 38

Atlanta --- 34

The NFC Championship is the first game (regular season or playoffs) since the 1970 merger featuring two teams that have scored 30+ points in 5+ straight games. The Packers have scored 30+ points in 6 straight games (including playoffs), the longest current streak in the NFL. The Falcons have the second longest current streak, scoring 30+ points in 5 straight games (including playoffs).

[...]

Matt Ryan threw 38 touchdown passes this season, 2nd-most in the NFL. The only player with more? His NFC Championship Game counterpart, Aaron Rodgers, who threw 40 touchdown passes.

dfosterf (10h) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (12h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
    dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
    Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
