Found a great question on Twitter. "If you could eliminate 1 player from the Cowboys gameday squad, losing the equivalent Packer, who would you pick?"

My first thought was the Center. JC Tretter is healthy so he can replace Corey Linsley, but I don't think the Cowboys have a decent backup Center and their OL needs to be weaker.

Obvious answer:
Elliot x Monty, clearly works for us. Dallas is a running team.

Not so obvious:
Byron Jones x Burnett would hurt them and we have Brice.

I liked the title question "If you could eliminate 1 player from the Cowboys" who would it be? Much more interesting and thought provoking.

Since adding the extra part about "losing the equivalent Packer"... I think there is two simply answers.

#2 Elliot x Monty as already stated above... but there might be one more, especially since the Cowboys might have some good options behind Elliot.

#1 LB Sean Lee... he's both a speed and tackling machine. Lee has 145 tackles this year, including 93 solo tackles, and that's with them resting/not playing him in week 17. I'm not sure who the "equivalent Packer" would be... Burnett maybe? Ryan? ... but if Sean Lee got knocked out, the Packers might be able to run/pass on the Cowboys just as easily as the Cowboys run on other teams.

I think you have to weaken that OL because the holes they create, most RB's are going to gash you and at least provide QB time to throw.

After more thought, gotta cut the head of the snake off. Whoever their best OL player is, which is the Center. I guess I didn't change my thinking much haha

As they said on the local sports station last night...this D plays with a bend don't break philosophy. It breaks so much easier without Lee.

OR...Given we're going to be without 87, I'd take 88 off the field for them.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

And maybe Daniels could take over a couple interior plays. And make the Rb game go the outside.

Though using that same logic... IF (and this is a big IF) IF Spriggs is ready, then taking out the Cowboys best OT might be extremely helpful as well, which hopefully would let Matthews, Perry or peppers dominant one edge. Which would be awesome.

But I think that uffda agreeing with me, means I have a pretty dang good argument.

I am not sure how many running plays Dallas take up the middle between C & G. I don't see the OL being critically weakened if you take away their center. It will be weaker but it may not be enough.

First choice is Elliot/Monty.
Second choice Bryant/Nelson. 😉
Third choice would be Lee/Ryan
