What we need in this game is an early lead and some semblance of a run defense. The biggest problem is we can't defend the pass adequately in a base defensive formation so our guys up front need to step up in the nickle and Dom needs to substitute in some big guys when Dallas runs heavy offensive formations instead of just staying nickle/dime no matter what the offense does. If we get a slow/sloppy start against Dallas it'll be trouble because they probably won't allow as many possessions to get a rhythm going.

I watched alot of dallas games this year (besides GB) - the lions actually had a good 1st 1/2 vs dallas trading blows with them; and then they just fell behind. I never did watch the last giants vs dallas game; have to check that one out.

That was early in the season when Dom was still trying to figure out what he had to work with between all the CB injuries... the Safeties have really stepped up since then and the CBs have finally been stable and they have trust in Gunter now. Also Capers completely over thought the defensive plan and tried hard to get all of the OLBers on the field at once which backfired early on.

If our best bet is the pressure of a #1 seed gets to them, then we're already lost because that's just plain stupid and completely overthought... because compared to an NFL defensive player trying to nail you, there is no pressure from a meaningless word. P.S. We have not already lost... because on the field is what matters.

Is it cold down there in Dallas? ... just remember it was cold when the Packers played the Super Bowl there with ice falling from the dome.

Really? You go from Packers can't win 8 games... to ... they're clearly going to beat the best team in the NFC? [wtf]

Seems like a trap for an I told you so either way the game goes.

I'm on Green Bay because Dallas is overrated. I recall the last time Dallas was a 1 seed. TO was crying and tried suicide not long after, if memory serves.

You underestimate the pressure of being a 1seed. They fail more than you'd think and this is a team who has 3 young stars two of which are weirdos. Barfarn pointed out Prescott's recent troubles. The rookie wall is supposed to be a real thing. Maybe, he hit it a few weeks ago.

Smokey. I'm sorry I don't fit what you're looking for. Didn't realize a football forum's aim was to make friendships. Shouldn't be to make enemies either. Sorry, I've made one from you. You remind me of a Walmart greeter. A friendly face to welcome you. Nothing wrong with that but friendship is way down on the list when discussing football for me.

Here's some cliches for y'all:

Anyone can be beat. We just gotta play our game.

Oh and when we have a chance to wrap up Zeke, we better get him down, because once he breaks a tackle or two, he's gone.

Since the current system was adopted for the 1990 playoffs the 1 v. 2 conference Championship game has happened only 22 times out of 44 possible meetings. Only half the time has the “better” teams (at least by seeding) advanced to the championship games. It is even rarer since 2005.

Death, taxes, and a team (and sometimes two) from Wild Card Weekend making at least the conference Championship Game – three things you can count on…especially over the last 10 seasons. If your team wins on Wild Card weekend don’t think for a second they are done.

EDIT: Something that hit me... Beware the home cooking officiating in this one. Dallas is this years media ratings bonanza. Not that we're any slouch, but the Cowboys rising to prominence is what the league loves. We might be on the receiving end of a Dez didn't catch it call this time.

Just because the top seed loses, it doesn't mean it had anything to due with the pressure of being the top seed.
It's just as likely it's because they got over relaxed with their bye week...

And much more likely than either of those two, that the winning team simply played better and had match-ups that favored them that day and had nothing to do with pressure or relaxed before the game.

Like the Packers beating the #1 seeded Falcons in their dome (which is why I think a dome might be good for Rodgers), Rodgers was unstoppable that day... and the Falcons didn't have the pass rush to do anything about it.

The bottom line is being a 1 seed is of little consequence in my eyes. It's a watered down NFL and Dallas did not blow people out this year...they played some very close games, and beat some really bad teams, like SF, late.

Zero2Cool (55m) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (4h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (4h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (5h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (5h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (5h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (5h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (5h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (5h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (5h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (6h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (6h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (6h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (6h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (8h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (8h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (8h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
