For some, this might add credibility.. for whatever it is worth, some seem to take Bill's eye for talent as a premium..

Agent Peter Schaffer also said Adams also will be taking a trip to the New England Patriots.

Probably.. Ted will let him walk out of Green Bay without a contract even if the fit is a good one.

That there is the one place in this game that pisses me off about Ted.. he is a plodder in making a decision.

That's my main complaint, as well. Granted, lots of folks around here seem to be backing off on this year's crop of FA talent, but I'm personally concerned that if we fail to shore up a few areas with real talent we're going to be in rough shape next year. The draft isn't going to get it done, and the other teams in our division look to be more actively working to improve than we are. I love our new-look coaching staff, but they need players to work with.

If the players are available and Ted thinks they would help (ahem: OLSHANSKY, Holliday), I would like to see him move with purpose instead of just plodding along like Eyeore or something.

Furthermore, I don't understand why he doesn't. Is he concerned about losing face if he makes a strong play for a guy and that guy chooses another team? Is he just totally unwilling to over-pay? If it's either of those reasons, I don't like it. The fact is that everybody overpays in FA - if you're unwilling/unable to play by the rules on the field, you're creating your own handicap. It's one thing to avoid hamstringing your team's future prospects, but it's another thing altogether to simply refuse to do what has to be done to improve your team.

I still think it's a make or break year for someone up-top, whether it's Thompson, McCarthy, or both of them. I don't see even moderate fans like myself being okay with it if they stand pat player-wise and the team disappoints on the field next year.

Of course, if we get a Holiday and an Olshansky, or some similar result, I'll be a happy camper. Because at least we tried.

Guys ... think about it, I feel like most of the fans just want to sign anyone just for the heck of it. I mean ya it'd be great to sign Holiday or Olshansky ... Adams but these guys aren't those superstar players your hoping for.

I mean Olshansky is probably the best one left out there as for his potential but even to that it's not guaranteed.

I really do think that the fans just want to sign someone just so they could be like YAAAA WE SIGNEEDDDD HOLLIDAY ... sometimes not doing any moves could be the right move.

Olshansky is just as good as Canty. Similar players. Canty plays on a big of a better team but they both bring virtually the same thing to the table for us.

The right move is to bring in guys that know how to play in the 3-4. So far, we got a defense full of rookies (in the sense that they haven't played in the 3-4 yet). Usually, it takes a year or two for a player to get comfortable in a system. WE need to bring in some vets like Holliday and Igor to help the rest of the guys learn the new system.

It's quite hysterical if you look at the last 2 GMs. Sherman would reach and trade up in the draft, and sign injured free agents without working them out(Tim Couch). Ted signs free agents as if it will cost him his right n_t and hoards middle and low drafts picks. LOL

I think Sherman tried harder but Ted does a better job.

I would be extatic if we hired both holiday and olshansky (tough name to spell).

I really dont know how either of these guys are - havnt watched em play too much. But from the sound of it they would bring experience and toughness to our Dline.

Then we could concentrate on other things in the draft like a NT (brace) and another CB to train up jenkins (or a OLB orakopo or brown) and then another DE ie tyson or johnson ... err then we need Oline (didnt like how much rodgers got sacked and had to run around ...

Adams re-signed with the Browns, so if we bring a Safety in, it's probably going to be Smith.
