Rouse as an OLB? You kidding me?

Not in a full time basis.. but to throw a different look.. why the hell not. Think back to the days of Leroy Butler... he was very effective at getting home on the pass rush..

It is all about making the offense pick up a different look and force them to adjust on the fly.. by someone having to account for a blitzing safety.. it will open another lane up on a one on one or unblocked.

A land of confusion... I hope that is what Capers and company bring to the opposing offenses..

In the next day or two, they will visit with Cleveland unrestricted free-agent safety Mike Adams, a part-time starter last year whose strength is coverage. According to an NFL source, the 5-foot-11, 195-pound Adams is scheduled to meet with Packers officials to discuss the possibility of joining their organization.

A Part time start so that is a Frank Walker pickup.

So does that make Matt Cassel a Frank Walker pickup? Technically he is only a part-time starter, because he only started if Tom Brady was injured (which isn't often).

Frank Walker was a bum everywhere he was.

Mike Adams played pretty well when he was on the feild. I live in Youngstown so I see jus about every Cleveland game. I know if we give him an offer, another team is most likely to give him a better offer, not a bidding war obviously but he'll gain some interest once teams notice other teams takin notice to him.

I mean he played for Cleveland.. His stats arent as bad for the mediocre defense they've had.

Yeah, Mike Adams was one of the best players on their defense until he got benched again for Sean Jones who was returning from an injury. He played the rest of the season in substitution packages, and did a good job. Kinda like Aaron Fransisco did for the Cardinals, well, maybe not that good, but still, he'd be a great pickup IMO.

I'm surprised that we're looking at Adams. Yeah he's cheap, versatile and a good special teams player. I can't help but wonder why we're not looking at Sean Jones. He's supposed to be the best player in their defence and he plays in the same position that Adams play in. Surely the fact that no team has come in to sign Jones is interesting, we could be getting a good player who may be forced to negotiate a lower salary because of the lack of interest.

I think teams are scared of him because he had a arthroscopic knee surgery during the season and the very fact that Cleveland did not re-sign him was a major red flag for interested teams. You would've thought they would have kept their best defender. So if Cleveland are staying away, other teams will stay away too. Also to take into account, Cleveland's defence was so bad last year that maybe Sean Jones isn't as good as his numbers indicated.

I think it's strange cos when he came back into the team, it was business as normal, Adams got relegated back to the bench, Jones played 7 games in a row, 4 interceptions and 43 solo tackles (at that pace he would've made 104 tackles over the entire 17 game season). That is similar production that he made in the last 3 years. That makes me question the real reason why he wasn't resigned.

I think the new management wanted a do-over and they did not re-sign ANY of the free agents (13 of them if i remember correctly). Sean Jones could just simply a casualty of that.

I think if you look at the body of work Jones has produced in his NFL career, they are concerned with more than just last seasons injuries.. he lost his entire rookie season to injury as well.. Lot like Mike Brown in Chi-town.. good player when he can stay on the field.

Availability plays a large part in inking these free agents.. or at least it should. You hearing me Washington and your 100 million dollar 14 games a year average man..

For some, this might add credibility.. for whatever it is worth, some seem to take Bill's eye for talent as a premium..

Agent Peter Schaffer also said Adams also will be taking a trip to the New England Patriots.
