If picking late in the draft is the reason for the decline, then explain the Patriots. Their success is not based on just their draft - they do what Ted should do, and that is SIGN SOME PROVEN TALENT AND FILL THE FUCKING HOLES IN THE ROSTER!

Injuries play their part - but that could have been minimized had Ted gone out and made a deal or two so we had at least someone at CB with some experience. I had hope when he made a deal for Knile, but then went back to sitting on his hands and watching it all burn to the ground.

Does anyone seriously think we can't find a better GM?

One extra play in Colts and Atl games and we win.

and one ST TD and pic 6 [like Minnesota needed to beat a bad Ariz team] in Wash game and GB is 3 and 1 instead of 0-4 in last 4 games.

Now the rosters, talent and players are all the exact same in both scenarios. Regardless of being 3-1 under the alternate scenario, the team played like crap. But because we lost 4 Ted is a poor drafter; and if we won 3 of 4, Ted would be a genius.

There's way too much uffda-like wilda$$ irrational emotion. Dont look at stats, dont look at Ws and Ls...WATCH THE GAMES. Last year before Denver game Uffda said we'd go undefeated; now he says we wont win another. The GB media is a bunch of stooges, search their articles for the facts and question those to be sure there's no McSpinn-like objective; but for god sake dont absorb their idiotic opinions.

I'm still laughing about the WRs cant get open stoogery..😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

But, there is no better GM, because he gets it. Look at all the FA acquisitions Detroit and Jax have had. See that dont work either. Only difference between NE and GB is QB play; cant hold a GM and HC responsible for a great Qb suddenly changing and deciding he's so KING CRAP he can crap on his family and the staff, his teammates and the system.

The reason for the drop off due to injuries is not talent or more FAs; IT IS PRACTICE TIME. There isn’t enough practice time for the starters; let alone getting back-ups ready and forget the back-ups of back-ups. There should be something like one hour a day of extra practice for back-up players with less than 4 years experience.

I don't think I'd blame drafting for what we're seeing. I think the biggest problem is we are getting very little from several guys with very large contracts and our depth for injuries is Undrafted guys and rookies. We could do for some medium ranged priced free agents I think where the young guys on the roster actually have some competition but if they step up and make the spot there is good experiences depth. I think our roster is getting a little too top heavy where it's devastating when a couple of those guys go down.

But I think you're mistaken about the Patriots... the Patriots sign guys cheaply... both proven AND unproven... and then adjust their systems to the talent of their players. It's rare that the Patriots go out and sign a proven talent for market value.

I seriously and strongly believe picking the right GM is a lot tougher than people think... why? Because so many people have completely failed at doing it. So it much be tougher than people think.

The funny thing about injuries, you can't predict you are going to get depleted a position and math says you can't load up on every single position.

If we had matched the 3 year $15,300,000 contract, I wouldn't have been upset, but I know many fans would have bemoaned the whole Sam Shields, D. Randal and Q. Rollins AND investing into a CB who had hamstring issues and didn't show he could play anything other than the slot.

Besides, it won't matter until we have a defensive coordinator that adapts scheme to players, instead of players to scheme, it won't matter if we have 11 first round draft picks on defense.

Zero2Cool (5h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (5h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (7h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (8h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
    dfosterf (9h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
    Zero2Cool (9h) : Thank you
wpr (9h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (9h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (9h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (9h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (9h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (10h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (10h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (10h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (10h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (10h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
    Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
    Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach. (via @tompelissero )
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Looks like Lions OC Ben Johnson is going to be the Bears coach
