Typically this time of the year I'm glued to my computer/laptop searching for rumors on what the Packers will do. This is the first season, err off season that I have absolutely no interest in continuing that.

There aren't any real gems out there and with that said, Ted won't be active at all.

So, bleh.

Yes, it does seem this offseason is a little blase. I'm more interested in who we're getting rid of more than who we're picking up at the moment.

IMO Free agency is never boring. While the Packers may not be making the signings, I like to see what other teams are doing and paying. So also when somebody says we should have gotten player X, I know what they ended up getting, and if it would have been a good move for the Pack.

Also seeing what the competition will look like.

Well we made the nfl network as one of the most disappointing teams so far this offseason lol. Don't they know Ted Thompson don't like free agency it's his vacation time. He heads to the beaches of Hawaii to catch some sun and work on his ummmm tan 😛
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Ted never vacations.

The Packers interest indicates they think highly of Canty as a possible piece in their new 3-4 defense, and they have more than enough salary-cap room (about $34 million) to sign him, though that also would mean eventually losing one or more of their own players who will be free agents a year from now.

This. Always a double edged sword.

No need for a signing now to mean losing anyone in the future. At least not for money reason. Thompson and the purse string holders have good management, and will make sure that money is available when needed.

This time of a year is a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, part of me really wishes that Green Bay was in the mix for some of these players, wheeling and dealing and making waves.

On the other hand, I appreciate the organization's commitment to fiscal responsibility and focusing on signing the young guns of the team to long term deals.

I like that I'll be able to watch players like Jennings and Collins in the Green and Gold for a long time, but damn if I don't wish Green Bay would some sort of a splash in free agency.

If the Redskins can somehow sign Haynesworth, Hall, and Dockerty with the huge contracts they were given with the limited cap space the team had, I think the Packers will be able to sign their own free agents next year... Besides, after next year the Packers may cut Clifton or someone to free up more cash.

How are we one of the most disappointing teams this offseason? They completely redid the entire defensive coaching staff and scheme.

packerfanoutwest (8m) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (14m) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (16m) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (17m) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (19m) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (28m) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (34m) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (37m) : Packers will get in
beast (38m) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (43m) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (44m) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (2h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (3h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (3h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (3h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (4h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (13h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (13h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch
buckeyepackfan (17h) : Am I wring in saying if Tge Vikings beat The Seahawks, The Packers clinch?
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : Agreed; you stinks
Zero2Cool (21-Dec) : I'm not beating anyone. I stinks.
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : rough injury for tank dell. guy can't catch abreak
beast (21-Dec) : So far the college playoffs have sucked... One team absolutely dominates the other
beast (21-Dec) : Well even if you weren't positive towards a guy, you wouldn't nessarily want to tell the media that (if they don't know about it)
Martha Careful (21-Dec) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (21-Dec) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs
packerfanoutwest (21-Dec) : Coach Matt LaFleur has said quarterback Jordan Love is playing the best football of his career.
beast (21-Dec) : Oh, that's how you keep beating buckeye, with cheating
Zero2Cool (20-Dec) : There is a rule that if your name starts with 'b' you lose 15 points. Hey, I don't make the rules, I just enforce them!
wpr (20-Dec) : and then there is Beast. Running away with it all.
beast (20-Dec) : As of tonight, 3 way tie for 2nd in Pick'em, that battle is interesting!
beast (20-Dec) : Lions vs Vikings could be the main last game as it could determine division winners or #1 vs #2 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Or if KC needs to win for the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Right now it looks like the only prime worthy games are Det-Minny and KC-Denver (if Denver can clinch a wild card spot)
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : The entirety of week 18 being listed as flex is weird
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Matt LaFleur today says unequivocally "Ted Thompson had nothing to do with the drafting of Jordan Love."
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Apparently, the editing is what pieces comments together. That Ted thing ... fake news.
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : LaFleur "opportunity that Ted Thompson thought was too good to pass up"
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Jordan Love pick was Ted Thompson's idea.
Mucky Tundra (19-Dec) : Kyle Shanahan on signing De'Vondre Campbell as a FA last offseason: “We obviously made a mistake.”
packerfanoutwest (19-Dec) : Alexander’s last season with GB
Martha Careful (18-Dec) : if I were a professional athlete, I would probably look to see who the agent is for Kirk Cousins and then use him
beast (18-Dec) : $100 million fully guaranteed Kirk Cousins gets benched for rookie
Mucky Tundra (18-Dec) : a lower case b
Mucky Tundra (18-Dec) : The real lie is how beast capitalized his name in his message while it's normally spelled with
packerfanoutwest (18-Dec) : haha that's a lie
