What I don't like is: Rodgers had guys open short, and almost never threw to the open guy. Then ended up throwing into triple coverage. Does he NOT see the RB that is 5 yards down field, with no one within 10 yards? Better to take a 5 or 6 yard positive play then a no gain play.
I've seen this all season so far, and I don't get WHY he doesn't hit the check down.
Does anyone else here see this, or am I missing something?

At this point I'm going to let Aaron do his thing. It's his team and when he starts costing us games on a consistent basis, then we'll see what happens, but for now, we keep seeming to win, so let's ride this thing out.

It is great to make a few deep pass attempts, but it shouldn't be every set of downs.

The other side of this is some don't understand that deep routes are important to keep the underneath guys from being blanketed. It is surprising what pulling even just one defender deep can do when you need to move the chains. Again, rather than using this to our advantage - we see too many deep throws that could have otherwise gone for a first down.

I don't think there is a Packer fan alive who didn't love that first drive. I know I sure did. however, as Spof, or was it Wes , pointed out we went 4/4 on third downs during that drive. That's not gonna happen all the time. Take away one of them and the drive stalls.

That is playing the IF game though and its not really what I wanted to say about that drive. Its almost as if the drive took too long and was too efficient. We had the ball for 9 minutes and scored 1 TD. Usually with 9 minutes of possession time the Packers have had 3 possessions and at least three long bombs. That's a chance for 3 TDs not 1. Of course it usually only goes for 1 TD (if we are lucky) and a couple of 3 and outs but that's not the point. The point is we usually have a chance to get 3 TDs in those 9 minutes, not just 1.

This easily could've been a 3TD day for Rodgers. The stats don't say it, but he wasn't horrible. Remember the TD to Cobb that was called back, Nelson dropped one that led to an INT, and Richard Rodgers dropped a perfect pass.

Of course, against NYG's depleted secondary, more should've been done.

Both Cobb and Adams had good performances. I still don't know why Abbrederis hasn't seen the field. Even Janis was in on a play.

By this count, if our player make the catches they should, Rodgers should have had 5TDs and 1 pick ideally. If Giants catch his other errant throws than it would be 5TDs and 3 INTs. Either way, he did play better than his final stat line. I think the stagnation is more related to drops and bland play calling than the demise of Rodgers.

It's like the Bert Favor situation, all over again.

If one really takes the time to WATCH the play, frame by frame sometimes, we can have a real good idea why a play did not work or narrow the culprits to 1 or 2 guys.

In my recap of NY game, I spoke of how Janis effed up a route on a deep pass to Jordy. The next day Butler said the same thing on X and Os. I initially thought Rodgers threw into double coverage, but then I WATCHED THE PLAY.

And we may not know what the progressions were supposed to be; but when the play is over we can tell what each receiver thought their read was in the play. And if the WRs all run their routes correctly, it is very easy to spot the progressions. When one WR screws up, it's usually pretty evident because his movements make no sense with respect to the other receivers.
