I have only seen limited amounts of the preseason games so far, but overall I am impressed, especially with the way the defense has played. Since I know a lot of you are following more closely than I am, I'd like to hear what you think of what we've got here.

I think our secondary will be all the better for the year's experience, and the front seven looks more aggressive.

On offense, the running game looks solid, which should open up the passing game that much more. I really hope Cook stays healthy.

I haven't seen enough special teams to make a judgement, but Crosby looks solid, at least.

I haven't done deep analysis of any positions because I'm not an Xs and Os guys, but I've seen some interesting storylines:

LB Carl Bradford's resurgence: Will his push this pre-season earn him a spot on an ILB position group that is deep all of a sudden.

QB Joe Callahan's quick absorbing of the Packer offense: He's got a lot of playing time with Hundley being limited and has made the most of his opportunities. He's putting some good stuff on tape.

Heck of a UDFA class: Led by S Kentrell Brice, who looks like a lock at this point, this group of rookies is going to make the final cut down a little harder than it's been in the past.

Other quick hits: RB Lacy and TE Cook look like game-changers. Goodbye to CB Goodson. JC Tretter has got his spot back!

From what I've seen Blake Martinez should be a starter. The kid looks like a natural defensive leader out there.

I am also very impressed with Kyler Fackrell and I think he earns himself some decent playing time as a rookie.

The D looks better for sure.

However, I always worry about Dom Capers. The man is either brilliant or idiotic in my mind.

He has caused me to pull out my hair over the years, as well as cheer his game plans wildly.
