Yea I've gone through the game recaps throughout the day, and I'm on board with Brice; Have been since last week. It's either both of them on the 53 or Banjo over Brice if that's the choice for me right now. I don't know if we'll end up having to choose though... We've got time yet, so let's see how things play out.

My only concern is we start the season thin on the defensive line when we're going to need a good rotation down in Jacksonville. Perhaps we stay in nickel and/or dime for the vast majority of the game though. I think the team tested that out against the Raiders, so that may be a clue they're preparing for that.

But with Goodson suspended the first four games, I think the 5th Safety has made a better case for himself than the 5th week 1 available CB to this point and could see them going with 5 CBs and 5 S. Especially with Hyde's ability to potentially play CB if need be.

I'm still unsure about the Packers DL, but it's kind of scary that 3 of the Packers top 5 DL could be rookies until Pennel gets off the suspension after the Packers 4th game. The rookies will need to step up and especially stop the run as they Packers will face Chris Ivory, Adrian Peterson and Rashad Jennings in the first four games. All of them are big physical RBs.

I immediately rejected that notion, and then the more I thought about it I said... wait... no... maybe? But seriously... who knows, but being on the number 1 ST units is always a good sign my friend.

McGinn on Brice after Niners game:

The Packers aren’t cutting Brice. It would be akin to releasing a first- or second-round draft choice. That’s about the level at which Brice has performed.

---A personnel guy told Bob he'd recommend a claim be put in if Ted Thompson cuts him.

I will keep saying it... Brice can be a defining player. One who can change the perception of your defense. We have a star in the making and we're advocating keeping try hard Banjo over him? Don't get it.

Banjo is 10X the player is Brice is right now.

It is not Brice or Banjo; Brice is now a lock too.

So, you think Banjo is playing like a 1st or 2nd rounder? Really?

I like Banjo but don't get this keep Banjo over Brice thing and now you're saying Banjo is 10x the player? No. Yes, Brice lacks experience but to couch it like you did is really off.

Banjo can't get on the field on D. Hasn't.

Today Banjo is a better safety than Brice, alot better. Teams are not scheming to to beat Brice, start him in Jax and you'll be calling for him to be cut the next day. As the 4th safety Banjo started 1 game last year and played 11.2% of the snaps; not sure the charge that he didn't see the field is accurate. When he played, he played well. In '16 Banjo would start for 2 teams in our division.

The Packers have to keep 4 Safeties; 4 CBs; 2 QBs; 3 Tackles; and so many of this and that. For the last 4-5-6 roster spots guys actually compete against players from other position groups. The goal is to keep the best 53. Guys with upside; that can play STs; UDFAs; those likely to get scarfed up on the waiver wire; and those whose position groups have impending free agents are characteristics that cause players close in talent to make the roster as opposed to being cut. Hyde is an UFA, Banjo a RFA, Brice is an UDFA with upside who can play STs and will certainly not clear waivers. This makes Brice a lock!
