It’s clear after two exhibition games the Packers secondary has grown in both experience and ability.

It's just preseason but the secondary has looked pretty good so far.

It's the most loaded position group we have. We're going to have to let quality players hit the open market. It's a good problem to have. If the D-line improves in front of them, we'll be a top 10 defense.

Let us not forget the 500 + yd toasting that P.Rivers and the Chargers laid on the Packers Secondary last season. I will be reserving opinion on this years secondary until I see them in action against an elite QB /Passing Team for 4 Quarters . A few pre-season games against less than #1 talent is not a true measure of this team/secondary. They do "appear" promising , but let's just see if these guys have a chest first before we start pinning on any metals .

A fair early evaluation of this secondary may be possible by Oct 2nd and GB's Bye .

Let's not forget that 2015 is over
Lessons are learned and thankfully coaches and players move on.
Unlike some fans.
The D has looked good so far.
Preseason is for the young guys to impress the GM and coaches.
Can't wait to see the real deal come September.
The Packers are loaded and ready to make a statement.

And the Raiders let him play almost the entire half.

The Packers' secondary is making strides. They won their 1v1 matchups. When Capers starts calling stupid shit, then we'll see them falter like they usually do.

As the Packers CB coach said, of the CBs, only Shields has proven himself. While yes Randall, Rollins and Gunter might have good potential... they still have something to prove and after that who is there? Goodson might be the next physically, but he seems to make bonehead mental mistakes. And I'm not sure how Hyde would be as a starter... as last year he seemed to put on some weight, lose some of his quickness and play inconstantly. Looks like he's gone the other direction and lost the weight and got the quickness back. But can he handle the deep speed/adjustments/reads that deep Safety need to?

This forum has not seen much of Poppa San's wisdom over the last few months. I welcome and look forward to more post in the weeks/months to come .

I fully understand how work , family , and religious activities can place some in a real time crunch . Some in this forum only just appear on a Game Day in the Chat , while others can be relied upon to post about everything . I encourage new posters , they provide a fresh point of view .

As for the Packers CB's & Safety's , preseason football is not a fair evaluation of how players will preform in a regular season . Let's just wait and see .

I'm asking the 5th and 6th CBs to step up and show that they're better than the other UDFAs, show us that you deserve to make the 53 man roster... because as of right now, they're all blending in together and looking pretty dang average... I'm not asking for starter or probowl, I'm asking show us you're in the top 50 players the Packers have signed.

To his credit, CB Josh Hawkins has made some flashy plays once in a while... but he's also played in surprisingly loose coverage at times as well, and better QB/WRs will take advantage of that.

Rollins is better than Hayward. Randall is a good player but in my very humble opinion he is a safety. He can be a fantastic safety. As a CB I see him being beaten just too many times, he is really not good in man coverage.

I don't see our secondary as a very good unit and I'm praying to be wrong.
