Receiver Greg Jennings had the most success of his career playing for the Green Bay Packers. If he had his way, he would have rather played for anyone else.

This is not to be critical of Greg. This shows that players including FAs do not want to play in cold, White GB. Even if they have Aaron throwing them the ball. Even if they make the playoffs most of the time.

If TeddyT doesn't recognize this he should. He should be willing to make his offers a little sweeter to bring in the better quality players. I am convinced Reggie would never have agreed to a deal without the Packers making the offer they did. (And yes I am aware of the salary cap issues of today compared to then.)

Ted isn't here by accident. The Packers recognize you need D&D in not only a frigid, but tiny market.

Ultimately, I can't blame Jennings. Living in the artic sucks to the majority of the population. Obviously some people love it, especially people that were born and raised there. But otherwise, it's nice to live in at least a slightly warmer climate. The cold just wears on many of us.

There's plenty of guys who like the Green Bay atmosphere. You just have to be old school and/or a country boy.

I don't fault Greg for this one bit. He's a Michigan native and wanted to live in a warm climate. Oddly enough, he's calling Minnesota home, by choice.

The headline should really be that Greg Jennings didn't want to play in the cold elements. If Green Bay were in Kansas, he wouldn't have had any issue at all. Their topic makes it seem like he had something against the Packers when it was actually the cold.

True story: A few days before I was drafted, I was getting calls from a bunch of teams. I had the Nextel flip phone. It lit up with a 920 area code. That’s a Green Bay number. I remember thinking right before I picked up, Ahhh man. I’ve lived in Michigan all my life. Please let me go somewhere warm. It was a few coaches from the Packers, and we had a good conversation.

The next day, I went out to breakfast with my best friend, Jerome Harrison, who was also in the draft. We were talking like, “O.K., of all the teams you talked to, where would you not want to go?”

I said Green Bay.

Get me outta this cold, man. Let me get some sunshine.

So naturally, on Draft Day, my Nextel lit up with the 920 area code. My heart literally sank. When I got on the phone and the GM said, “We’re about to draft you, Greg. Are you excited to be a Green Bay Packer?”

I said, “Absolutely!”
