Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy will tell you he's on the same page as GM Ted Thompson. We don't believe it. He wants personnel he isn't getting.
The post Perfect Evidence of Mike McCarthy, Ted Thompson Fissure appeared first on Total Packers.

I think there's something to this, but I don't think it's all THAT serious. If anything it's Ted being unsatisfied with Mike. The last two seasons, it hasn't been personnel that has put us out of the playoffs, it's been performance. This team has been less than the sum of its parts.

I also believe there is more of a rift between Aaron and Mike than there is between Mike and Ted.

I don't know if there's a "rift" between any of them. I think they all want to win.
I think it's more "What story can we write for today? We need to fill the papers with SOMETHING!"

We're one of the 10 wealthiest franchises and have one of the 5 most conservative GM's, if not the most conservative. It's awesome to have a perennial playoff team, and equally as frustrating to have only 2 Lombardi trophies in the last 25 years.

Overall, Thompson has done a very good job rebuilding Ron Wolf's team that the Sherminator had almost destroyed. I've been happy with TT, not slurper happy, but happy!

I don't see a rift between any of them. No more than would be expected in any business. There is always going to be some level of "disagreement". Mike may want more at TE, but that doesn't mean there are the right players available at a reasonable price to bring in.

As for Mike and his middle of the field talk. There is no hard and fast rule that says you can only attack the middle of the field with Big TEs. It can be done with WR's crossing, hell Chumura killed the middle on those simple stop routes. The reason we haven't been exploiting the middle of the field is not because of players. It is because of play calling.

My thinking is you have to put the game in the hands of your best "side of the ball". If you have a Denver type D you can put the game in their hands in the 4th quarter. It's been frustrating to see McCarthy start getting conservative early in the 4th when out D is not that great and expect them to magically hold. In today's football a 21 point lead early in the 4th is not safe if you only have a so so D and your O goes into a shell. So in those instances we should be pushing the lead and not getting conservative since our O was better than our D.

I see many good points here.
I think the Packers need to "put their foot on the gas" and no matter if you are winning or losing, keep it floored till the clock reads all 0's.
