Comparing Joe Buck and Vic Ketchman is like comparing Mike Tirico and Larry McCarren. The comparison doesn't work.

Vic should say what he really thinks and the team should let him. There's zero value in someone making up things and having fans read it as truth as most do. There aren't that many who get how deep the connection is between what Vic says and his paycheck from the Packers.

Vic Ketchman is one of those guys that fans hate, without really having a good reason to hate him. Kind of like Joe Buck. For whatever reason, it's trendy to hate him. Whenever I ask someone why they hate Joe Buck, it's always some stupid reason like,"Because he hates the Packers/he hates my team."

Every fan base thinks Joe Buck hates their team. I've never understood this. But it is pretty damn funny.

Heck no, I spent a lot of time getting them to where I want them. I feed them to my lizards.

Why would you pay someone to write negative things about your product on your website? Why would we expect that or even demand it? You don't go to Pepsi website expecting to read about how Coke tastes better or go to Ford website expecting to read that Toyota is better, so why go to the Packers.com site expecting to read anything other than more Packers favorable writings?

Considering how much flaming and negative crap is flung around on Packers.com, maybe Vic is just being the contrarian? Who knows, maybe if everyone was glowing Green he'd offer up some "cool your jets" commentary that is objective?!?!?

I don't ever go to a product or service website hoping to read objective views on the product/service. That's just stupid researching.

Still remember watching a game last year where a team was driving down the field late losing by 4 or 5. Troy Aikman starts talking about how many more yards were needed to get into FG range...

If Vic wants to be a homer because he's paid, that's understandable but there's more to this than just that. He's not smart. Go look at what he wrote to a couple of responses over the last few weeks about why the best pass rusher doesn't line up over the RT all the time? Vic answers and says because that would encourage teams to run to the right side of the line. Someone says to him in the next column that his answer made no sense because teams would just be running over LT all the time if that's where the best pass rusher was. Vic answers and admits he was an "idiot" by saying, well, not every team has Reggie White??????? Huh?????? There was an opportunity for him to admit he had no clue what he was talking about but he kept going as to not appear stupid. Vic should've not taken the question and attempted to answer if he didn't know what the answer was but he did.

Kevin's point is excellent and is the one I've made, repeatedly, about Packers fans posting anywhere in Packerland in general. There is little objectivity because the goal is Packers promotion and not besmirching the green and gold's good name. A lot of forums become just an extension of Packers.com and that is pure yuck. A buddy booster club with no actual reading value. When we get honest and really talk about the team both positive and negative we have an actual forum. Of course, some of us skew one way or the other. It's always nice when you can find a balanced board. Reading Vic makes one imbalanced or pushes them that way. I prefer to know about my team...my real team, not some idealized version of it. Vic is an impediment to objectivity and should be avoided at all costs imo.

BTW, I like Troy Aikman. How could anyone rip the knowledge level of a guy who won multiple SB's as a QB? He scored 29 on his wonderlic and is a successful businessman and despite all his concussions is very well spoken.

I personally cannot stand the guy. He constantly feeds to the already over inflated egos of Packer fans around the country. But I guess that's more of how I feel about Packer fans in general, or at least the ones I see online.

He's a human just like you and me, expect he has found a way to get paid by the Packers. Good for him. I'm not going to pay attention to him, so it doesn't matter to me if he's good or bad, smart of stupid. Ill go elsewhere for my Packers news. I never check www.packers.com. If I'm super bored, maybe I'll go listen to some player interviews, but even that's largely pointless. I just have better ways to spend my time then listen to all the rhetoric and then complain about it ad nauseam. Who is really the fool in that case?

I think Vic is actually far less of a homer than some of the national writers you would expect to be unbiased. If you read him long enough and carefully enough (I know that can be painful) you can tell when he disagrees with what Ted Thompson or MM are doing. He has the ability to sidestep a question and give such perfect non answer answers that he could be a politician.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
