Did you watch him in college? Did you evaluate him one on one? Did you read interviews of others who interacted with him? What was your reasoning? None other than to be negative and then years later pump your chest that a kid failed at his dream.
Many people didn't like the Aaron Rodgers pick, how the fuck did that go? Fact of the matter is fans rarely EVER are happy about a pick. Why? Because god for-fucking-bid they are WRONG. But hey, let's come come back years later and boast how we were negative and RIGHT!

I knew that not all of the things Brett did were going to be things he would do as well because Brett was unique and unorthodox. But he would be able to learn. I couldn't understand why people were so frustrated that Ted took him. I thought it was a tremendous gift and huge mistake by so many other GMs who were being short sighted. Most of them knew they would not be around in 3 years when Aaron was ready to play so why would they run the risk. Even today you see GMs shove their new qbs out there way too soon because they are fearful of their jobs.
Back to Justin. In a similar manner I didn't watch all of his games but I read about him. There were reports that he took plays off. That he played down to the level of his competition. I didn't see DT was one of the bigger needs. They had Corey Williams and Pick so they were fine. Don't get me wrong, I like getting quality linemen on both sides of the ball. EVERY YEAR is fine with me. But you don't need to draft the fatties in the first round every year.
To my unskilled eye they needed a Safety, OLB and RB more. I wasn't enamored with KGB so I thought they cold use help at DE as well but that was a lesser need.
As far as pumping my chest out at his failed dream. Get real. That is a stupid comment. Why would I ever want any player who wears the Packers Green and Gold to fail? Why would I ever be happy about it or that I thought TeddyT made a mistake with any of his selections even a 7th round pick? That doesn't even make sense. I want every single player to be a HoFer. Obviously it is not possible but I certainly want them all to succeed. All I have ever said is that I didn't think Justin was the best player available at that time nor was he the best player available at a position of greater need.
If I had my druthers I would rather have seen GB take a safety. My hope was for Mike Griffin or Reggie Nelson but then I didn't watch them in college so I wouldn't have known who would have been the best fit in GB. OLB was second on my list. I was only basing that on the reports I read.
Once Justin was selected I shrugged my shoulders and figured Ted knew best. I had hoped that a ferocious rush by the front 4 would mitigate the need for a stud safety. I had hoped he was right in taking the gamble on an often injured player and that the reports I read were not correct.
