When you complain about the Packers not making a big splash in free agency, keep this signing in mind because it's going to haunt the Redskins. They signed cornerback Josh Norman (28 years old) after one really good season to a $75 million contract with $36.5 million guaranteed.

That's $15 a year, which would put him higher than every cornerback in the NFL for 2016.

I want to give Scot McCloughan (former Packers scout) the benefit of the doubt, but I can't help think, Albert Haynesworth, much?

Edit, higher than every other cornerback other than Darrelle Revis.

Edit2, more details on the contract. I still say not a wise decision.

You don't have to spend $75-100 million to sign quality players.

Heck I would be happy if GB actually called and talked to some of the better player's agents once in a while. That would be a step in the right direction.

Yeah, because you don't hear it about from ESPN that means it never freaking happened.

We will all see how well the Redskins did in week 11 when the Packers travel to Washington, DC.

I have read and heard several FAs say GB never contacted him or his agent. Perhaps it is not true but why would they lie?

He had a great season, but I still say he is a product of the system. Without the pass rush of the Panthers will he be anywhere near as effective?

It's Dan Snyder's team.

You can safely assume it's a dumb move.

Theye weren't really bad last year, but this feels like a move you maybe make if you believe you're one piece away from winning it all. They're far from being that good a team. And even that this would be a questionable move.

Karlos Dansby would've given you an amazing option in the middle for a year.

Nick Farley would've been a great signing on a 1-year prove-it deal.

All guys who would've cost next to nothing, but could've made a big impact for a year. And even if they wouldn't have, there's next to no risk, because you're not investing more than $1-3 million with little guarantees in these guys.

Of course, we did sign Jared Cook to a similair sort of deal, so we have been on the lookout for reinforcements this off-season, which was a pleasent surprise. I just feel that we could've done with spending another million or two on a guy who you know could really help us out (on defense).
