The Bears placed Alshon Jeffery on injured reserve and it's been speculated he might not be back with the Bears next season. The Bears have promising WR Kevin White who should be healthy next season.

Jeffery is 6' 3" and clocked a 4.48 forty yard dash.

Jeffery is a free agent after the conclusion of this season.

If Packers offered him a two-year prove it contract, that'd be nice. Imagine him with Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery.

2012 10 games 24 receptions 367 yards 3 TD
2013 16 games 89 receptions 1,421 yards 7 TD
2014 16 games 85 receptions 1,133 yards 10 TD
2015 9 games 54 receptions 807 yards 4 TD

14.8 career average yard per catch

However, we do have two receivers making $9M+ a year. I expect Jeffery is going to want big money. Could we really tie up upwards of $30M a year on three receivers? Maybe. I'd still rather spend that money on a left tackle if one is available. That said, I don't yet know the league-wise projected free agents next year.

Get a TE who can run down the seam.

I get that someone will overpay, but there's a lot of value to playing in a team with Aaron Rodgers in it. Ask Randall Cobb.

I'm all for loading up the skill positions, but it seems to me our offensive line needs some new talent first.

If for some reason Jordy wasn't going to make it back that would be an idea. But for the amount of money he is going to garner, we won't be able to afford him. And I doubt he would be wanting to be third fiddle on the team to Jordy and Cobb.

Sounds good - but I have to agree that the money he would want might be too much. With Nelson and Jones getting older, it should be at least a thought to bring in a proven player.

My concerns are more about the OL. If Rodgers isn't afforded a little more time to throw, it won't make much difference having another WR. I am aware of the opinions of him holding the ball too long, but that is a whole different topic. You buy him more time and he will play better, as will any QB.

The cheap route has caught up to this team - time for Ted to spend a few bucks and keep his QB off the turf. Everything starts at the line, offense or defense.

I believe the money would be better spent upgrading BOTH tackle positions to try to keep Rodgers from getting killed.

Figured when I wrote "If Packers offered him a two-year prove it contract", that it would be enough indication that the question posed was assuming it was a cap friendly number for the Packers. Guess not, lol.
