And another thing, why don't they change the rules about playoff seating. Just because you win the division at 8-8, shouldn't give you that 4th seed. If the wild card teams are better than you in the standings, they should be seated higher as well.

Also some years, the NFL has a great point in that not all division schedules are made equally... back when the AFC West and NFC West had HORRIBLE division, I remember some division (I'm thinking it was the NFC South) got to play them both and they just dominated over the other horrible divisions and for the longest time it looked like they were going to get 3 teams into the playoffs, not because they were the best, but because they as a division CLEARLY got the easiest schedule. I think as it worked out, they had to play against each other some and one team started struggling when they had to play teams that weren't from the West and that division only got two teams into the playoffs.

So since the schedules are set up per division, each team that's suppose to have a similar schedules (or every division) is guaranteed at minimum of one playoff seed and one home playoff game (that is to say the division winning).

Personally I'd like to tweak it so say, that the division winner must have a winning record to be guaranteed a home playoff game, and that teams with a winning percentage of 62.5% (10 out of 16) are also allowed into the playoffs... so that say if the 7th would be seed also win 10 games, why not also allow them in and let them face the 2nd seed?

Also the NFL owner (unofficial) said they're going to take the 12 team playoffs and make them 14 (with a 7th seed playing the 2nd seed) giving only the first seed a bye week... and the reason they're not doing it already is because they're waiting for TV contract or some networking deal to be up, so they can charge more for the next ones that include the playoff talks.

We definitely tend to do that. Barely even showed up today, then next week, there is a chance (and I don't mean to jinx us) that we could show up completely focused and actually "try hard" for 3-4 quarters.

We did it to the Jets at home, the Texans at home, remember that one? Aaron came out in the press and said, "The Texans have the better record, but they know they're the REAL underdogs." 🤣

Mike's problem is that we only show up like that on average once or twice a season.

Two paid teams are playing each other. If the Packers don't outscore the opponent by 100, outgain them by 750 yards, or go an entire game sans missed block/tackle/dropped ball, then CLEARLY the ONE and ONLY conclusion is MM and this team don't give a F---.

We're just going to minimize the game of football to this conclusion...If the play went well, you're prepared and care. If there is an undesirable outcome, you weren't prepared and don't give a shit. VOILA! NFL Network, hire me!

We can still get the two seed, but we have to win our last two and Arizona would have to lose to us and Seattle in W17 for it to happen. Seattle has already clinched a playoff birth, but they might still have the 5 seed to play for come W17 for a much easier trip to a weak NFC East opponent versus potentially going to Arizona or Green Bay in the Wild Card round. If we win the North but don't get a first round bye, all you have to do is look at our home losses to Detroit and Chicago for the reason why.

We scored more points than the other team this week, but we took a step backwards as far as gaining momentum for a SB run. We can't shit ourselves like this and expect to advance when it matters.

Didn't you say we weren't even going to beat the Vikings last time we played them?

Hell why do we even play the games since you already know all the outcomes?

You can't live off essentially 2 pick sixes and some timely drive-extending penalties or blown coverages. This team is winning thanks in part to unsustainable fortunes.

Man, the Eagles have done some serious self shitting tonight. Doesn't anybody want to win that horrible division? And another thing, why don't they change the rules about playoff seating. Tyrann Mathieu done for season with torn ACL. Palmer is injured but going to be good to go come Sunday.

Welp, anything to help the offense with Mathieu being done. Not like we didn't have arguably our best DB out yesterday in Oakland. This will be a tough one though to say the least, and there's very little reason we shouldn't be anything but underdogs going into this game. Even above average QBs have eaten our defense for lunch this year and if the offense can't score any points, it could be a long day for Green Bay. Minnesota going in there and almost beating Arizona gives me hope we can actually get the W, but I wouldn't be shocked if we came out with a L. We can clinch the North with a win and a Minnesota loss, but it's a pretty good chance our W17 game will be for the division. Might as well make it the W17 NFC North trifecta. Chicago in 2013, Detroit last year, and Minnesota this year.

I will say, I've always been a big proponent of reseeding the Wild Card round based on record. Top 2 division winning seeds still get byes. Bottom two division winners and both wild cards where seeds 3-6 have HFA determined by winning %, head to head, and division/conference record like most other playoff tiebreakers. If division winners aren't at least guaranteed a playoff spot, to me, having division champions is mostly pointless. But a mediocre 8-8 division winner shouldn't be rewarded by sucking the least out of a bad division by getting a home game in the wild card round. To me, Green Bay should have been the 6th seed in 2013 with that 8-7-1 record.
