I figure this game tonight is HUGE. It is the reason I am watching.

When the Cards win tonight, it will pretty much lock up the NFC North for GB.

Arizona is not looking as dominant as I thought. Short passes are burning them.

It's massively important. The Cardinals Defense and Special Teams cannot get interceptions, sacks or fumbles or any kick/punt return for a touchdown. Guess what, the Vikings freaking fumbled!! You kidding me? You can't go one game without a turnover for me? Vikings have no limit in fans they let down, even those who are not fans of them.

And even if Cardinals win, the Packers still have to face the Cardinals themselves, which a Cardinals win there would tie everything back up again.

Also just because I find this interesting (and annoying) if the Cardinals are able to lock up a first round bye and the Packers are able to win the division, then looks like they could be hosting the Vikings in back to back weeks...

It is not an important game it's almost meaningless.

If the Vikings win we have 97% chance of making the playoffs
If the Cardinals win we have 98% chance of making the playoffs.

The key is that in most simulations Packers are #3 and Vikings #6 or Packers #3 and Vikings #6. Since it is one or the other who wins this game is actually not very important.

Another way to think why this game is meaningless is to consider 6 teams:

Carolina
Arizona
Green Bay
Minnesota
Seattle
Some NFC East team

For these 6 teams to make the playoffs the only games that matter are those of the teams that might replace them mostly Tampa and Atlanta. So as long as Tampa and Atlanta don't win whatever these 6 teams do is meaningless it only changes the seeding.

I see Vikings finishing 9 - 7. They lost three of last four.

I was rooting for the Vikings in this game. We should have no problem passing them up. However, we need somebody other than the Packers themselves to knock off Arizona for us to pass them and get the second seed and bye week.

The most likely scenario now would seem to be Packers 3rd seed and Vikings 6th seed - Seattle has the tiebreaker over them. That would mean the glorious fun of playing the Vikings two weeks in a row - end of the regular season and first round of the playoffs - both at Lambeau.

It occurred to me tonight that Brett Hundley is a better QB than Teddy Bridgewater.

With the #2 seed we'd probably get #3 Arizona at home while Carolina loses his first and only playoff game to the Seahawks. Then it will be sweet revenge at Lambeau against the hawks.

The #3 seeds gets us to play the Vikes at home as you said and then we go automatically to Arizona as Seattle again will travel to Carolina.

So the difference between #2 and #3 is a practice game against Minnesota and if we play at home or on the road vs Arizona.

It is fun that Seattle over NFC_LOL and then Seattle @ Carolina is almost locked unless something really really strange happens.
