Big Ben already has both feet in the Hall Of Fame at the age of 27.

Like it or not, that is a fact. The only thing that will keep him out is if he suffers a career ending injury.

I was talking to a real football fan just 10 seconds ago. She and I agreed that one thing about living in San Francisco is you have to put up with "them." You probably know what I mean. The type of people into PETA who hate football, hate everything American, etc.

Well, one sad thing about watching the Super Bowl is you got a chance to hear Big Ben talk. That's not something you want to hear, especially when you have to deal with "them" the next day.

She was saying and I completely agree, Big Ben is a dumb oaf. I have to deal with "them" saying how stupid football players are and Big Ben confirms it. He's dumb. And here I was telling everyone that it takes "intelligence" to play certain positions in the NFL. So how can I respond when they say some moron won the Super Bowl? I can't. They win this round. Does that bother me? Yes, it does. I don't like being wrong, especially with "them."

Now, put Aaron Rodgers on the Steelers. Guarantee that game wouldn't be as close as it was. Not only that, Warner at 37 is a much better QB than Ben R will ever be.

Like I said, right place at the right time. I want Big Ben to pick my Lotto numbers.

Good game, and congrats to the Steelers.

My only issue, and I seem to be the only one that is bringing this up in this thread, is the officials NOT calling a booth review on the Warner 'fumble'. At least make it LOOK like you were calling a fair game. Anyways, I personally think Warner's arm was moving slightly forward when the ball was knocked out of his hand.

Oh yeah.. That last Steeler TD catch, was FANTASTIC!

I would want Ben on my team more than Warner although I love Warner. I want a guy who can get away from pressure or shake off a tackle. Warner is down always first contact or he fumbles.

Ben and Brady are the two most clutch quarterbacks to play in this decade in my opinion.

I can't figure out what fourth quarter was better. Giants vs. Patriots or Steelers vs. Cardinals.

Porky - Usually I agree with you on almost everything sports related, but couldn't disagree more on putting Ben in the same sentence with Brady.

Ben is not clutch. He rode a superior team to 2 SBs. Give me Mr. Kurt Warner any day of the week over Ben R. Now, Warner is clutch. He can carry a bad team pretty far, and carried this team with several superstars but some gaping holes all the way to the Super Bowl. Wow. Now, that's impressive.

Ben's first SB was one of the worst performances I've ever seen in a SB (with Wrecks Grossman being hands down the worst). But like I said, he rode a superior team. Lucky guy. Right place at the right time. If I ever meet him, screw the autograph. I'll ask him to pick me some Lotto numbers.

Brady I hate as a person but as a player, he's hands down the best in the NFL. I'm almost willing to put Brady in the same league as Joe Montana. Almost.

"porky88" wrote:

Ben has more comebacks since he entered the league than any other quarterback and that includes Tom Brady.

The Steelers defense choked under pressure and gave up the lead with two minutes left. Yeah they made a big play in the second quarter when the game wasn't hanging in the balance. Pittsburgh defense didn't play well in the fourth quarter. The defense may of got them to a Super Bowl, but in the end it was the quarterback who had to win it.

That drive was one of the three best drives in Super Bowl history behind Montana's and probably ahead of Brady's against the Rams.

I would say this decade Ben is only behind Brady when it comes to clutch quarterback play. If I can't have Brady from the 2000's era then I want Ben in the final minutes.

You can argue about his play in quarters one through three, but not in the fourth. That's when he's at his best and once again he proved it last night. He's proved it all year. He's a legit top five quarterback in my opinion. Sometimes you have "it" and sometimes you don't. He has it.

He's well on his way to the Hall of Fame. He's in his prime and has two titles. Baring something out of the ordinary, Ben is only going to get better. He did throw 30+ touchdowns in 2007. He's the type of quarterback that can do what he's asked of. Manage the game or sling it.

All i have to say is +25 Porky maybe they will listen to you because they try and mock me when i was talking about his comebacks. Big Ben for some strange reason seems to be able to pull games out at the end. If you look at his career stats they aren't impressive in the Tds and yards but look at the wins. Can't deny it. They said 1/3 of his wins are of game winning drives, thats just nuts. I personally can't stand him hes got a huge ego and i have to hear him all the time on the news here. Alot of the Steeler fans don't even like him.

What bothered me about the officiating wasn't their failure to review the Warner fumble, though I would have liked to see them review it. What pissed me off was a) the idiotic roughing-the-passer call; b) the failure to eject Harrison for blatantly throwing a punch; and the failure to call Holmes for excessive celebration following his TD catch.

I also happen to think Harrison was down before he hit the end zone, and I'm still not convinced Holmes got both feet down.

If one of the Cardinals players had just come off the sidelines and tackled Harrison, they would have prevented that touchdown. Yes, they would have been assessed a penalty, but it would have been worth it.

Oops, did I just advocate cheating?

Or what about the Holmes celebrating would have gave them 15 more yards and the harrison i believe it was taking off his helmet for another 15 yards, and if it was a fumble how does the ball go 5 yards down the field? Granted there would have been only 5 secs but give them 30 yards and your talking about 1 play from the what 15 yard line.

To the last two posts:

Only a tiny portion of why this game left a bad taste in my mouth. Yes, I cheered hard for the Cardinals. Yes, I don't really like the Steelers. And yes, I watched the game from a Cardinal fan standpoint versus an objective point of view.

If the officiating was better, I would love this game, Steeler win or not.

Still agreeing on this. I'm sorry, but if you watched that final drive and can still say the guy's just lucky, you've got some other agenda. He extended those plays and made some awesome throws - the kid's just got it.

And dumb? Why? Because he doesn't sound like a newscaster when he's interviewed? He seems plenty bright to me. Football, for all its intricacies, is not exactly neurosurgery.

The guy could be the devil incarnate, but the fact is that he's a damn fine QB in the clutch - and a person can admit and admire that without it being any sort of comment on our own up-and-coming QB, I think.

Zero2Cool (5h) : If they'd been more patient with him, he'd be back already. Putting him out there vs Bears caused him to tweak it and here we are.
packerfanoutwest (5h) : well this is his last season with the PAck, book it
beast (6h) : Sounds like no Alexander (again), I'm wondering if his time with the Packers is done
Zero2Cool (13h) : Could ban beast and I still don't think anyone catches him.
Mucky Tundra (26-Dec) : Houston getting dog walked by Baltimore
packerfanoutwest (25-Dec) : Feliz Navidad!
Zero2Cool (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas!
beast (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (24-Dec) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (24-Dec) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
