His blocking has gone from not very good to solidly average, maybe even a little above average. He’s certainly blocking better than other 2nd yr TEs of Ebron, Amero, Jenkins, Nicklas; Fedorawitz might be a touch better.

On receiving he’s ascending as well; it’s just being masked by AR’s not-MVP to poor play and this must be adjusted for. AR is currently #14 in yards; but Culter, Bradford and Mariotta have all passed for more yrds/gm. McCown/Manzell; Rothlesberger/Vick/Jones; Mallett/Hoyer/Yates; Luck/Hasselbeck; Manning/Ostweiler have all passed for more yrds. Romo would have more yards. AR is effectively #24 in passing yards...TWENTY-FOUR.

I can think of 4 plays off the top of my head: one in the left seam for a 40 yard TD; 2 wheel routes down right sideline for about 20-25 yards where AR missed RR; that just would not have happened if 2014-AR were playing this year. And yesterday a 20 yard TD falling OOB for a TD called back by penalty. Adjusting for the huge difference in QB play; RR would have several more catches and probably 200, maybe 300, more yards.

RR has made a couple of Knuckleheaded plays/penalties, which disappoints. He only has 1 drop; but I think he should have made a few more tough catches. He’s been just about YAC-less; it does seem a strong gust can knock him down; but this to some degree can be attributed to the routes they have him running. GB is concealing RR’s strength in the middle [They revealed some of those looks w/ Perillo v. Detroit]. Most of his routes are either moving horizontally toward SL [setting up the wheel routes that AR has been missing on] so he can easily be cut down; or he’s sitting down in a hook zone gap, which don’t lend much to YAC. Hit RR over the middle while he’s moving and you’ll see more Lacy-like YAC.

2014: 478 snaps; 30 Tar; 20 catch; 225yrds; 2 TD w/MVP QB
2015: 528; 53; 36; 253; 5 W/ a Ryan Fitzpatrick impersonator

I also feel like him and Davante are still pressing a bit.

Once they're confident they've "proven" themselves, I think they'll relax into it a bit and let good things happen.

I have Richard Rodgers (see I can spell his first and last name, send cookie to Green Bay please) on my fantasy team and I can without a doubt tell you ... he is NOT ascending. Stop the lies. Stop the madness. Stop the INSANITY!!!

3.4
1.6
13.90
9.20
0.70

That is not ascending, that is descending. We need Vernon Davis.

He looks like a lineman, I'm not sure if that's on him or that's what the coaches want him at but he's never going to be a very big receiving threat while he's that big. I assume it's the coaches based on his history in college of dropping/gaining weight easily at coaches request.

This guy lacks athleticism, and the last time I checked, a real vital part of being a professional football player. Please boys, show me some stats to debunk my theory.

This guy is only useful as a red zone target. He can be good in that role. But otherwise, he's nothing more than an average #2 TE at best between the 20s.

He's like a 3rd string TE we trot out there and try selling as a starter. Ted can do much better in the off season - too bad it's a year too late.

We need one good tight-end drafted in Titletown...but the fondest memories at Tight-end is when we had 2. Mark Chmura and Keith Jackson tore up the league when they played together in Green Bay in route to a Super Bowl XXXI win.

Ascending to hell?

He is very irregular, some games he gets all his blocks and catches a couple of TDs, then he disappears, misses his blocks and is replaced by Justin Perillo (!)

Quarless was eligible to return this week (12). I haven't seen/heard any word on his status.

Yea, he's not Antonio Gates, but he's fast and athletic enough! If he had just caught the 4 passes I mentioned above, and this probably would have happened if 2014 AR was QBing this team, he'd have 4 more catches for about 100 yards and 2 more TDs. Then most would agree Rodgers is ascending; why is he not ascending because AR missed his throws?

On the play 3rd Q 10:22 Rodgers, Cobb and Adams were lined up right. Rodgers was on LOS [24 yard line] and Cobb and Adams a yard back. all 3 run vertical til R.Rod makes his break at that moment Rodgers is at 9, Cobb is at 11 and Adams is at 10. Trust me he is fast enough and if he doesn't turn into a top 25-33% TE next year it wont be because he's too slow or athletic enough. He is way ahead of where Q, Finley, Taylor, DJ Williams, and Clark Harris, were in their 2nd years as a complete TE.

Doesn't look fast to me at all. He's the slowest TE we've had since Bubba Franks.

I've still got faith R. Rodgers will solidify his spot as the starting TE, he's not going to set the world on fire with his speed but he's got the size/intelligence to be a good all around player. I believe in having 2 starting caliber TE though which hopefully the Packers address next year in the draft. Quarless has been passable and the Packers will improve with him back imo, but its time they take a flyer on a Finley type replacement.

He's fast enough to get open. He had a 20 yard TD called back this past week. Just let him develop, he'll get there.

Ted drafted DBs this year. TE and LT are on the docket next year. And maybe an ILB.
