I was talking with a Bronco fan during the game.

I was told that The Bronco fans were questioning Peyton Mannings ability to throw the ball.
She said the defense had been carrying the team but the quality of their opponents so far was not the best.

Now I'm reading the other threads and it seems these same questions are being asked about The Packers.

The Broncos silenced their fan base with probably rheir absolutes best and most complete performance in a long time.

Somebody tell me what team would have won in Denver on that particular night?

The Broncos are now being called the absolute best team in The NFL, if that is so, then The Packers now know they have some work to do.

Being The Best after week 7 means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Time to move on.

The Broncos have the same problems they had in the first 6 weeks. They only looked good because they played against us.
In the same way I don't see Philip Rivers throwing for 500 yards in every game...

Just like declaring the Packers finished after one game is a little short sighted.

Let's play a game, what do you need to defeat the Packers and how you do it?

When you have the ball:

- You need plenty of crossing routes because every crossing route is a 1st down against us, at least until we stop it.
- You need a smart QB to quickly throw those passes and when we leave the middle open call a run (Rivers and Manning can do that)
- You need a physical WR and if you put it against Casey Hayward they you have yet another option for a gain in every play.
- You need to put somebody with 2 hands against Micah Hyde and you have even another option.

With so many options you can throw the ball before any rush materializes.

When you don't have the ball:

- You need DBs that can stay at least near our WRs so Rodgers won't throw the ball there.
- You need a good 4 men rush to create pressure because our routes take ages to develop.
- You need to keep your safeties down so Rodgers won't throw deep.
- If you see Lacy coming you just crash into him.

So did Denver really played such a great game or just exploited our weaknesses? I think this game was an anomaly, you need a team with several problems to play in exactly the expected way and a smart team with 2 weeks to prepare to just exploit those problems.

I do disagree with part of your comment though. I do think Denver played a great game. Did they exploit a weakness, they sure as hell did and had a great game because of it. I don't think for one second however that the Broncos have magically found the answer and are going to go undefeated the rest of the way and sail away with the Lombardi. Just like I don't think the Packers are going to fold and go away.
