I was talking with a Bronco fan during the game.

I was told that The Bronco fans were questioning Peyton Mannings ability to throw the ball.
She said the defense had been carrying the team but the quality of their opponents so far was not the best.

Now I'm reading the other threads and it seems these same questions are being asked about The Packers.

The Broncos silenced their fan base with probably rheir absolutes best and most complete performance in a long time.

Somebody tell me what team would have won in Denver on that particular night?

The Broncos are now being called the absolute best team in The NFL, if that is so, then The Packers now know they have some work to do.

Being The Best after week 7 means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Time to move on.

The Broncos have the same problems they had in the first 6 weeks. They only looked good because they played against us.
In the same way I don't see Philip Rivers throwing for 500 yards in every game...

Just like declaring the Packers finished after one game is a little short sighted.

Let's play a game, what do you need to defeat the Packers and how you do it?

When you have the ball:

- You need plenty of crossing routes because every crossing route is a 1st down against us, at least until we stop it.
- You need a smart QB to quickly throw those passes and when we leave the middle open call a run (Rivers and Manning can do that)
- You need a physical WR and if you put it against Casey Hayward they you have yet another option for a gain in every play.
- You need to put somebody with 2 hands against Micah Hyde and you have even another option.

With so many options you can throw the ball before any rush materializes.

When you don't have the ball:

- You need DBs that can stay at least near our WRs so Rodgers won't throw the ball there.
- You need a good 4 men rush to create pressure because our routes take ages to develop.
- You need to keep your safeties down so Rodgers won't throw deep.
- If you see Lacy coming you just crash into him.

So did Denver really played such a great game or just exploited our weaknesses? I think this game was an anomaly, you need a team with several problems to play in exactly the expected way and a smart team with 2 weeks to prepare to just exploit those problems.

I do disagree with part of your comment though. I do think Denver played a great game. Did they exploit a weakness, they sure as hell did and had a great game because of it. I don't think for one second however that the Broncos have magically found the answer and are going to go undefeated the rest of the way and sail away with the Lombardi. Just like I don't think the Packers are going to fold and go away.

TheKanataThrilla (52m) : As a Canadian and a follower of Canadian University football. I am rooting for him
dfosterf (53m) : I bet a lot of us will follow the Taylor Elgersma journey with interest. Personally, got a Kurt Warner vibe goin' on. I like him
TheKanataThrilla (54m) : Not sure if either will be claimed though.
TheKanataThrilla (54m) : Tune or Hooker would make sense
dfosterf (1h) : Clayton Tune cut by the Cards? Don't know if that's the guy, we shall see
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : Per Bill Huber, the Packers will not be bringing back Taylor Elgersma or Sean Clifford on the practice squad, so a new third quarterback
Mucky Tundra (2h) : Schefter must have deleted his tweet
dfosterf (3h) : Hopefully Jerry reaches under the seat cushions and ashtrays of his jet and scrapes up the 45 million apr and spares us further nonsense
dfosterf (3h) : Have to admit the PO'd Cowboy fan videos would be fun to watch. Problem with draft picks is half their fanbase barely knows what that is
beast (3h) : I think Cowboys fans are ready to get their pitch forks and burning sticks if Jerry were to trade Micah
dfosterf (4h) : If Jerry traded Micah to GB, here in northern Va. they would have to quick build yet another data center to handle the internet hate traffic
Zero2Cool (4h) : its signing and trades that you don't hear about, other then announced
Zero2Cool (4h) : If you hear rumors about Packers sign or trade, won't happen. Not how they work
dfosterf (4h) : 19 players in a contract year. Jones called loss to us worst loss in Cowboy history. Forget Parsons trade. Not happenin' Cap'n
packerfanoutwest (5h) : The Packers, meanwhile, are the youngest team in the league for the third consecutive year.
dfosterf (7h) : That it was darkest before the dawn in Bengals and Commanders before they got deals done
Zero2Cool (8h) : what is Schefter saying?
dfosterf (8h) : He was getting Dorito infusion therapy
dfosterf (8h) : He's outta shape. Why, just the other day I saw him splayed out on the trainers table
Mucky Tundra (14h) : Parsons has followed Rasheed Walker on Twitter. Quite the choice
Mucky Tundra (14h) : Kuhn is a former player who works for the team, if somethings going down, he would be close to it
Mucky Tundra (14h) : @kuhnj30 Micah Freaking Parsons
Mucky Tundra (14h) : A LOT of buzz on the Bird App regarding Parsons; even Schefter is saying it's serious

Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : pp.com is broken, halt testing, gotta go do work things for a bit
hardrocker950 (26-Aug) : Mecole Hardman was released, to the surprise of few
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : PP.com updated. Reset Password works, and now User Profile pages are a thing
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : Soft hope plan is having fantasy football weekly on-site that i build. cannot do that with this setup.
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : It's older technology, resource hog, cannot be upgraded/changed. That's to start.

Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : check out packerpeople.com
Mucky Tundra (25-Aug) : Oh crap I missed that! I thought it was a 2026 pick
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : It wasn't even next year pick, it's two years away. old dog food value
Mucky Tundra (25-Aug) : Yep! Everytime a team trades with Howie that team is the loser (so says the media)
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : We are hosed.
