Hey guys just thought I'd point out that if you take away 3 defensive scores against the broncos they would actually be first in points against.

If we takeaway the four defensive touchdowns, Broncos are likely 3 - 3 and also they would be about 30th in the NFL with 18.5 points scored per game.

Packers are going three and out 24.62% of their drives (65) and Broncos are going three and out 22.67% of their drives (75).

Packers 3rd down efficiency
Offense: 15th -- 69 attempts, 26 completed, 37.7%
Defense: 22nd -- 85 attempts, 34 completed for 40%

Broncos 3rd down efficiency
Offense: 30th -- 86 attempts, 26 completed for 30.2%
Defense: 2nd -- 79 attempts, 26 completed for 31.6%

But hopefully the Packers got more healthy WRS and maybe the running game might get going some.

Their defense and playing at mile high concern me. Should be a good game. I think we can edge them but it won't be easy. We really need Davante and Lacy to come on strong off this time they've had to rest. If we don't turn the ball over I think we can keep their offense in check; a significant percentage of their points have come off turnovers.

I think the Broncos are going to take a page from the Chargers book and play the short passing game. Packers defense seems to struggle a lot with the short passing game. No idea why.
This will allow Peyton to get the ball out quickly before Clay murders him. If the Packers secondary could play the short game and force Manning into some tough situations, Packers can win this game. Peyton hates getting hit. He will either throw to us or crumple and fall.

Offense is going to need to dig deep this game. Broncos defense is ridiculous.

I don't think the Packers lose this one.

Packers- 28

According to FootballOutsiders Denver has the best defense and the worst offense in the NFL.

I don't think their defense is so good, they have played a very soft schedule against teams that don't have good attacks.

When the Packers have the ball:

Packers pass #2 vs Denver pass defense #1
Packers rush rank #10 vs Denver rush defense #6

When the Broncos have the ball:

Broncos pass #32 vs Packers pass defense #5
Brocnos rush #31 vs Packers rush defense #17

Special Teams:

Green Bay #8 vs Denver #9 (it's very even)

Watched a couple denver games recently. They got a really nice D ... looks better then ours at times.

I dont think their o is that good. pm ya has good reads and can throw quickly but he is not mobile and cant evade a tackle.

We need lacy back strong thou. I see us kicking denvers butt 28-10

To me, it really depends on what Peyton Manning shows up. If it's the Peyton that's been playing all year, I like our teams chances. If it's a version where our defense makes mediocre QBs look like legitimate Top 10 QBs at their position like Alex Smith, it could be a tough one.

This is probably as healthy as our team has been all year, so a tough road game against an unfamiliar opponent is going to be a good litmus test to where this team is. To me though, even an L isn't the end of the world given it's an AFC opponent. To me, the bigger game is W9 against Carolina for potential playoff tiebreakers. Either way, I don't see this as a blowout. I'm going to go 24-20 Packers.

I'm interested in knowing do we blitz a lot to force it out of Manning hand faster, or cover more making him hold it longer...

I haven't seen a lot from Manning this year, but the little I did see, they blitzed him and he clearly knew where the one on one was and gave his guy a chance to win it and they moved down the field. ..

I'm wondering if forcing him to hold it with mainly a 4 man rush (mixing in 5 from time to time) might be best.

Also I wonder if we can stop their run from the nickel scheme... just thinking it'd be nice to have the pass rushers stay on the field if they could do both.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
    Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
