Bulaga injured his knee today and dropped out of practice. I hope it is not serious, but it may keep him out of the game. That would be a MAJOR injury.

So is it dishonorable when Teams don't honor a contract? AJ Hawk and Brad Jones each had a year remaining on his contract when they were tossed to the garbage heap. Packers cut players with a contract all the time. From a Team standpoint, these contracts are barely worth the paper they are written on. So why shouldn't a player try to renegotiate?

In March 2011, AJ Hawk signed a 5 year deal. In March 2013, the Packers reworked the deal, lowering salary. In Feb 2015, he was cut. So the Packers altered his contract twice in 4 years. Not only did they not honor the original terms, they didn't honor the altered terms.

The contracts establish the terms for termination of the player with the team and I'll bet they were followed.

the contract probably established: that Hawk would get a roster bonus if he's on the team by a certain date, which is usually the beginning of league year; that hawk would get a workout bonus if he attended mini camps; and he'd get his salary fully guaranteed if he was on the team for game 1. Hawk failed to meet the contracts requirement for payment under those 3 circumstances; so he got no money...and in exchange he was released granted the title of UFA.

Note: essentially a 5yr contract is written in way that says, "each year for the next 5 years we can unilaterally decide if we want to cut you and you can become a FA and you have nothing to say about whether we decide to keep you or not." A 5 year contract does not guarantee the player work for 5 years.

Also Bruce Irvin doesn't even play on the edge anymore so he wasn't even facing Bulaga in the game last year, it's Bennett or Avril who he'd be facing just like last year and like he did in the playoffs.

We all saw him get his head blasted into Richard Rodgers last year. Suggesting that he's "taking a dive" is just idiocy.

That doesn't seem to be much different than Kam Chancellor saying, "I don't want to play for what we decided a year ago. I want to adjust the salary up."

Rumor has it that Seattle is 2-20 when opposing teams score 24 or more points.
Hopefully Aaron Rodgers and company are hitting on all cylinders and prove me wrong.
I haven't told either of my sons that I picked against the Pack.😕
