Hey fellas

I been away and missed all of the preseason. All I've seen is a few highlights on youtube. What did I miss? I know about Jordy and James Jones, but not much else.

Who were the surprises? Good and Bad?

Anybody I should go back and look at their preseason work?

How did all the units look? Offense Defence Special Teams?

I was feeling pretty good about the team's chances before my trip. Should I feel any different?

I know it's all gut feeling at this point but what everybody's feel for the early part of the season?

Thanks guys

WR Ty Montgomery, LB Jake Ryan and QB Brett Hundley looked like future studs. FB Aaron Ripkowski looked like a ST coverage stud. 😎

Packers are not deep at OT and DL at the moment, at least until DL Jones and Guion get off the suspension list, but still not deep at OT.

CBs still have something to prove. At times they've looked very very good, other times not so much. They have clear potential but still need to learn more and pull it all together but most of them are very young so they still have time to develop.

recap from preseason:

- new CBs look good
- jordy out with ACL for year; we resigned Jones!
- new kick returner and receiver looks good
- Tolzien much improved and so is our project QB
- Running with 2 FBs this year again

What I got from this preseason was our secondary is going to be more strength than weakness as most thought. I would say it is the deepest position on the team right now.

2nd Rounder Rollins flashed potential but there will be growing pains this year.

Also our punter is going through some of the worst performances of his career. It's concerning.

The only really significant thing to take from preseason is that Jordy Nelson is out for the year with a torn ACL.

I'd say the biggest surprises of the rookies are Montgomery WR/KR/PR and Hundley. But yeah the CBs can play too.

But the potential of the CBS is very large, I just think it might take a year (hopefully less) to reach that potential.

The Hundley pick is looking more and more like a steal. There was talk about how fast the Packers could trade his ass for a high round pick, but if he keeps playing like this I think management is in no rush to let him get away. He's looking like a great insurance policy for the next 3 years.

Given that I once liked Jones better than Nelson, I'm really happy about this pickup.

I'm not still saying he's better than Nelson. I don't think he is. And Cobb (unhurt) offers things he doesn't. But unless something has happened that he has "lost a step" (which I have no knowledge of, pro or con), I'd put him in front of everyone else.

OT and DT are still problems, tho, IMO.

Thanks for all the input fellas.
It's hard to find in depth info when you don't have a chance to see the games.
