Jones signed a vet min deal for Giants w/ a 30K signing bonus and 50K if he makes final roster. As a min deal cap hit = 665K. He was signed only as injury protection and to mentor the youngins in McAdoo’s [close to GB’s] system

Most of the Giants beat writers have Jones making the team. But they are wrong unless 1 of the top 4 is hurt and not able to play and it may take 2 to be injured. See, Noah didn't just forget to take the unicorns on the Ark...he also never took a Coughlin Giant back-up WRs that couldn't play special teams. Never seen one, never will! They’ve even written songs about it: “I’ve seen green alligators and long necked geese, some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees, some cats and rats an elephants and if your phone can ring, yer never gonna see Jones on Coughlin’s 2nd string.

Through 2 games Jones was leading Giants in receiving catches and yards; but all of his targets came from Nassib. I don’t think he’s had a single snap with Eli. JJ led Giants again in game #3 and got his first target from Eli. ODB, Randle and Parker played ahead of Jones and Cruz was out w/ injury. Game 1 Jones was #7-8th of bench along with Washington. In Game 2, Jones played ahead of Davis and Harris; and he did so again in game #3; but Harris is a lock and I believe so is Davis.

Giants are like GB, they prefer 5WR on roster but will keep 6 if talent/STs dictate and are LOADED at WR wayyyyyyy deeper than us in terms of GB system experience, the order in which they are playing is as follows:

1-3. ODB, Cruz, Randle [2nd rnd pick, 13 starts 71-938-3 in 2014].

4. Preston Parker, talented and troubled, who finally got his act together.

5.UFA Harris 5years 17.5M/7M Guaranteed. So he’s a lock. A Kick and punt returner w/ 3 starts and only 57 targets in Dallas a 5-10 205 lb supposed slot guy; but Giants have been playing him a lot outside.

6. They love their 2015-6th rounder Geremy Davis. Played ahead of Jones Game 1; beind him in game 2. He’s ben playing on several ST groups.

7. 6-4, 2014 UDFA Corey Washington [4tds last PS-the Giants’ Janis].

If Jones isn’t cut one or both of Parker and Washington will. These guys already have a leg up on our system having played in McAdoo’s system for 1.5 years; but neither has 4 years accrued and will be subject to waivers. I don’t think they’ll make it through waivers, so GB will have to swap a pick [TT’s not giving up a pick] or trade a fringe safety to get one of these guys.

I think we need a punter more than a washed up receiver.

Streator just went down clutching his knee in Oakland. Raiders could be making Jones an offer.

Walking off now. LOL

If you are James Jones, do you tank it knowing the Packers are looking for a WR potentially? Tank it as in drop lots of passes and run sloppy routes to get cut.

My thoughts on the theory. I would not because unless the Packers directly told me I would be picked up, it is too much of a risk of being unemployed.

However, Aaron Rodgers once spoke up loudly for the return of James Jones (end of first contract) and has not been so vocal about a guy since. Maybe Aaron whispers, if you get cut, we are first in line.

Cruz may not play the week 1 though he says he is. On 8-31 he was told he still cant run.

But even if Cruz [slot guy] misses extended time I believe it is Parker [slot guy] that will not be cut as a result.

"Scouted" LOL Giants WR in game 3:

Starting 3: Randle, ODB, Parker

Next 2 of the bench: Washington and Harris

Then Jones got his first reps w/ Eli. On Eli's second target to JJ, JJ didn't come back for a ball hard enough allowing DRC to jump the route for a pick 6. Eli gonna blame JJ for that.

6th round pick Davis 2 really nice catches-

Jones led team in catches and yards; but failed in the "little, but big" things: Like the pick 6; and well after a catch and run a safety latched onto the ball and took it from JJ, I guess that's a fumble.

Bad news: JJ is still doing very bad "little" things, which may not stop in GB [he did them here and in Oak.]. Good news: he pi$$ed off Eli, he'll get cut and no one will pay him more than min.

When Jared Abbrederris runs a Punt back tomorrow evening, hopefully we can close James Jones topic permanently. It will happen!! ala Desmond Howard 1996
