I like the topic of Datone Jones. He's someone who flashed seldom good moves, but seems to always have an ankle issue or something. It would be interesting to see what he can do if he can break the glass.

In his 3rd year a healthy Daniels, who improved his play each year [who’s gonna make at least 8M per next year], had 6 sacks and 26 hurries in 683 snaps. Jones in his 1st and 2nd year, battling multiple ankle injuries, has 5.5 sacks and 28 hurries in 571 snaps. So [rhetorically], is Jones better than Daniels? I'm just sayin'.

When we put the stats in their proper context, the stats misrepresent that Jones is the better pass rusher after factoring game situations and that Daniels gets more attention from an opposing OC...but I'm just sayin' . Surely Jones has a chance to achieve 2013 or 2014 Danielsness in 2015.

The original context of this thread was that DJ had put together a nice stretch. First, he played vs. Patriots backups and then he did things in practice. Doing things against the Patriots top OL isn't saying much so I really think this article has missed the mark as to the big picture.

It's sad one of our former top picks has to get some fluff piece written about stringing nice play together in an exhibition game and then doing things in practice over 2 years after his arrival. I'm sorry that is a sign the guy has been a dog up to this point.

Let's hope they can write a piece like this about him when he's playing real games and facing a solid starting OL from the opposing team.
