GREEN BAY — They might not go in the same direction in a regular season game, but the Green Bay Packers appear set to start Don Barclay at left tackle if David Bakhtiari's sore knee prevents him from playing in Sunday's preseason game at Pittsburgh.

David Bakhtiari (who has a knee injury) is on a program that will pretty much keep him out all week. If it's up to me, unless information is different, he'll be stressed to play in Pittsburgh.




Tidbit on Clay:

UPDATE, 1:25 p.m.: Matthews was on the practice field in pads, stretching with the rest of the team at the beginning of practice, a sign that he'd give it a go. He also was on the field for the start of the defense's walkthrough. He appeared to be limited in team reps later in practice and didn't work with the No. 1 defense.

Well I hope they don't plan on playing Rodgers too long. Barclay is gonna get him killed.

If his recent performance at RT was any indication, you are correct. Then again, I remember the first time he ever started a game. Everyone thought the season was gonna be over. But he held up.

We shall see. We'll probably also get a look at Tretter.

Barclay is a decent player, but he obviously hasn't fully recovered from his injury yet. Hopefully that can happen soon.

I assume this is only a preseason move and if injuries forced Bahk out during the regular season Bulaga would be moved over to LT with Barclay or whomever at RT.

Or at least I HOPE that's what's going on here.
