The NFL hasn’t officially announced Packers defensive lineman Letroy Guion’s three-game suspension yet because the appeal has not been heard, but that should change in a couple of weeks.

Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports that Guion will plead his case for a reduced sentence on August 24. Guion was arrested in February on drug and firearms possession charges that he settled by paying a $5,000 fine that carries no adjudication of guilt.

The no guilt part on Guion's behalf brings an interesting part of this into account.

But the other thing I've been wondering... is if it has taken them this long to get to Guion suspension appeal... how long will it take to get to Quarless and his suspension? and his potential appeal of the suspension?

Could they get Quarless suspension stuff done with before the season starts? or will the season be half over or more by the time they get to his suspension? what are the chances this gets taken care of before the season? during mid season? playoffs? or next off season? etc.

And when my teammate was caught by the police for his first offense he only got a one game suspension like the rule states, but when I was caught by the police for my first offense, I unfairly get triple the amount of the stated rule.

RB Le'Veon Bell suspension was reduced from three games to two games when he appealed after getting caught and the guy he was caught with LeGarrette Blount got a one game suspension.

I don't know if he will, but I think Guion has a chance to get his suspension reduced... maybe reduced down to only two. But a three game suspension just sounds odd... usually it's one, two or four. Maybe the NFL is giving out some odd suspension with plans on reducing them when the players appeal to make the players feel better and more like they're fair when they're reduced or something?

Also one my main thoughts for making this was guessing on when the Quarless possible suspension might be handled. I thought it'd be handled before the start of the season and we'd just carry another TE until he comes back from his suspension.... but if he's not suspended until mid season (or later in the season) my mind things that could make it tougher to come up with a god replacement, as other teams could claim some guys or other players could be injured and we already brought up the better PS players. Probably not a big deal, but I don't like the idea of the suspension being handled in the middle of the year.

I agree, a suspension the middle of the year is not good. If I were the Packers I would think about having him just serve his suspension at the beginning or the season, if that's possible, even if it is an extra game.

As for Quarless possible suspension, we don't know if the NFL has even looked into it official yet, much less handed down an official punishment. If they have not handed down a punishment, then Quarless can't accept it even if he wants to take the punishment without appeal. And the NFLPA has been trying to get every single player to always appeal every punishment.

Also there is the possibility that the NFL won't punish him until after his legal matter is complete... and no one knows for sure when that will be.

Is there another player who's fired a gun and got suspended? Just wondering if their is another suspension we can fairly compare Quarless possible suspension too. There was Plaxico Burress, but I think Burress got much much higher charges put up against him and Miami charges were rather light in comparison.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
