If we weren't switching to a 3-4, I'd say that this might be the year that Thompson
doesn't trade back. We've got plenty of youth and plenty of depth now, which is what he wanted to accomplish. Now we need playmakers.
That is, if we were still a 4-3 team.
Now that we're switching to 3-4, who knows? We have more concrete needs - a big DT, bigger DEs, bigger OLBs.
Then again, this is Ted Thompson we're talking about, so I really have no idea what he'll do.
Couple that with the harsh truth that nothing screws up good scouting like a good combine and I'm even more clueless than I usually am (which is a feat, believe me).
But... if it were me, and the draft was tomorrow, I'd stay at #9 and take Everette Brown, Brian Orakpo, B.J. Raji or Peria Jerry - in that order of preference.
