I thought it was a great day. Everyone seems to have moved past the divorce. Although Brett never smiled while Murphy was at the podium. It seemed genuine from all involved. Very interesting and enjoyable.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

Watching him on the field though he did seem quite humbled. And from his words, we have ruined the charm that made Brett Favre great. He was too worried about repeating himself, too worried about how his words were going to be twisted. It's a shame what the media has done to him with their selfish hate agenda to get clicks and attention.

I didn't watch it... don't care, and think it's kind of embarrassing to see a stadium filled with 67k to listen to a guy pretend like he's okay with what went on. Suckers. Everyone in that stadium...a sucker. How could you want to go much less actually go to listen to some fraud give a PR tooled speech?

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

I think he should have given more shout-outs (or any?) to the current Packers team, Ted Thompson, Aaron Rodgers, etc. If he wants to be a part of the Packers organization going forward like a Bart Starr has been, he can't hold animosity towards Ted Thompson. I just would have liked to heard a little more "Go Team Go!" from him rather than only looking back nostalgically in the past. Even a few sentences of lip service would have went a long way.

This was about Brett Favre and the players he played alongside year after year. The coaches, the staff and so on.

The one thing I would have liked and was ignorantly hoping for was Brett to apologize to the fans for his part in what happened during the departure. I thought the platform there was the appropriate time to do so.

I don't think it was JUST about the past, but also about the Packers nation accepting Favre back into the community. Favre should want that, not just a ceremony about his past. He can still do all that moving forward now, but I just think this was a good opportunity to do so. It wouldn't have taken much effort to say a couple sentences. It's just my opinion, but I think it would have been a great gesture. Although I can't say I'm surprised he didn't.

If Favre would be disingenuous by rooting for the Packers, then that's problem. It should bring him great joy to see the Packers enjoy success. He should want a Joe Namath and Bart Starr type of role in the future. Perhaps he doesn't. That's fine, but it would be nice. Perhaps he just cares about securing his legacy first and foremost.

I do see where you're coming from, I while watching the full five hours didn't really see an unforced time for it. I really wish there would have been more stories shared from his 16 years. That was what I really wanted to hear.

Based on what Brett's said, I won't hold my breath on him coming back to town any time soon.

Few dislike Bert as much as I do. I still own my "We'll never forget you Brent" shirt from a few years back.

That said, I think we're being a little nit picky. His speech was getting long as was, thanking even the maintenance guys and equipment staff. Maybe he omitted a few, either purposefully or not, but I don't care. He talked about how nice it is to come out of the home tunnel, acknowledged he wasn't perfect - that was a form of a mea culpa. Even if it was just PR lip service, he played the part of being humble, appreciative, and thankful...that's about all you can ask. Again, coming from a Bert hater, I didn't have an issue with who he did/didn't thank.

To me it was too long. Other then Frank Winters and MIKE Holmgren, they had too many speakers.
It got boring.
Favre on Lambeau Field in front of the fans was the best part.
After that it was long winded stuff that the average person would be lulled to sleep with.
But it was nice seeing him at least try to get back with the Packer fans and family.

I watched the rerun.......interesting how many people are goo-goo-ga-ga for Brent........part of me started to forgive him after watching, but this morning, that pubic hair went down the shower drain.

beast (12h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (12h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
