Jerry would be a move Ted Thompson could make by sliding back a few spots and picking up an extra second rounder. I love this guy but I think we could go back to 17- 20 and still get him.

I could see Ted Thompson making a move like this in a deep draft. Grabbing Jerry later and getting a freebie in round two would be a sweet move.

LT Jason Smith

If he falls to nine he'll be the best player available and the best value available, so no doubt Ted Thompson jumps all over him.

Curry is another potential pick here, but unless we move Barnett or Hawk, I don't see the team spending top 10 money on an ILB.

I'm curious why this thread isn't in Packers Draft Talk.

It is the offseason and topics are weary at the moment.. I see this as equal to the number of free agent threads we have at the moment.

That is the reason I left it be... add to it that it is specific to the Packers selection and addition to the team.

Jenkins will be snapped up by the Browns at number 5. He is a local boy, and they need a CB priority number one.

Ya see thats the thing - depends who the previous 8 teams take before us.

Jenkins sounds like a good pick but I personally like
#9 - Brian Orakpo - DE - Texas Longhorns. also
Have him line up opposite kampman as OLBs
Orakpo is light and fast enough to function as a OLB in a 3-4 IMO but strong enough to blitz

We got light ILBs that can move so having a couple strong guys up front will help out

Peria Jerry at No. 9 is a little high. Plus he's more of a DE in the 3-4 defense. I think he's best suited to be a cover 2 defensive tackle.

My guess right now is Everrette Brown, LB, Florida State

I could see Aaron Maybin and Brian Orakpo in play.

Sleeper is Jason Smith the tackle from Baylor.

That is where I would project Jerry is at DE.. something right now that we don't have solid answers at... you have Jenkins at one end and what the inconsistent and possibly suspended Jolly at the other?

Might be a tad high, but the way he is preforming leading up to the senior bowl.. multiple sources, I think he will rise a bit.

Do we really need to draft a tweener that high?

It shall be interesting indeed.

My thoughts were if they like him Ted could work his magic and trade down and get him later gaining an additional pick. I think they could do the same with Maybin.

This is a deeper draft then last years and there will be names like this upward of pick 20 to 25. Normally there is a number like ten where the quality drops off but that appears to be a bigger number this year.

Many people have Mark Sanchez going high now that he's in so that's another pick taken up that leaves us more to choose from.

I could see Ted moving back 7 to 10 places if he sees no clear stud that is head and shoulders above a later pick. That would make the additional 2nd/3rd round pick added like a freebie.

If your not looking for 1st round offensive skill players or QB's... this is an excellent draft..

It is deep as the ocean blue at a few positions..

BTW... I am saying 9 and Jerry because I think he is going to be moving up boards.. call it a hunch.. a few of the places I have been looking is 10 to 20 rated before Senior Bowl and Combine.. we shall see.
