Richardson is not going to be playing ILB as a run defender. He is going to be playing it for Pass coverage. It will more than likely be Clay on run downs and when Clay switches back to OLB, rather than bringing in a slow ILB who can't cover (HAWK), the bring in a Safety.

I reckon that's more likely. No way he plays CB in the NFL.
I mean, I don't know that much about the guy, but losing track of the ball, 4.69 speed, tight hips and aggressive... When he wouldn't be getting burned, he'd be a DPI machine.

And some would say you need more speed to play Safety than CB (especially depending on the scheme) because at Safety you're starting away from everyone, and need quickness and speed to get to them, where at CB you're already near your guy and can use bump and run skills to help stick with a guy.
It's like Al Harris, I think he ran a decent time as a rookie, but towards the end of his career he clearly wasn't the fastest guy but used great bump and run skills to stick with his guy normally and the same can be said about Tramon Williams.
If they keep Hyde at S (and don't resign Bush), I think Gunter and Glover-Wright compete for the 6th CB spot.
