I would not be opposed to him staying inside, as long as his replacements on the outside pick up their play.

I think it was more a combination of having no one else inside AND maximizing a players potential. Clay wasn't getting it done on the outside. There were other players on the team who were delivering similar or better production on the outside (Peppers, Neal, Perry).

Does anyone actually think there is a inside linebacker in this upcoming draft that would be better than Clay Mathews? At least this upcoming season? There likely are some very good outside linebackers available, though.
